Suriwongse Hotel Anuman Ratchathon Alley off Surawong Road The Suriwongse Hotel is one of the oldest gay hotels in the Patpong. Its room rates are mid-priced and value for money is average. At least the last time I used it.

Patpong 2: There are currently three male go-go bars operating on Patpong 2: Dream Boy, Fresh Boys and Hot Male. Along with the Midnight Bar and Red Dragon beer bars at street level, the Suriwong end of Patpong 2 has certainly come back to life. If you’re looking for an old school Bangkok fuck show, Dream Boy is the place to catch it. Screw Boys has yet to re-open. Lucky Boys has been taken over by Dream Boy. Soi 4: A number of strolls along the soi show that it has made a strong recovery with good crowds on most nights. Jupiter is rocking. The current staff is even more impressive than what they had prior to the pandemic. Much has changed on Soi Tantawan (Silom Soi 6), with none of the bars being exactly what they were before the pandemic. Yet, at the same time, it is all same-same on this more dubious side of the scene, with some venues gone but not gone. Example: Tawan Bar has moved across the soi from their former location. Silom Soi 6: Of the three, old, sleaze bars on the soi – the Golden Cock, Nature Boy and Super A. Golden Cock is now operating from the Nature Boy premises, with signage for both the Golden Cock and Nature Boy still at that venue. Super A is supposed to reopen sometime in September. Further down towards the Silom end of Soi Tantawan, the dubious massage parlours are operating as normal. Soi Thaniya 2: A couple of weekend trips to Moonlight show that the bar is doing well. Just opposite Moonlight is the newly-opened Surawong Café. Bangkok is swinging again!

The one that is most similar to the former Babylon is Chakran Sauna / VCK Cool Space / V Club 7. Beautiful rooms. Great massages. Hot Asian men. However they do discriminate on pricing. Non-Thai and older men pay more. Mostly younger Thai customers. Many of the gay saunas in Bangkok are similar facility-wise. They do vary with respect to the customers they attract. You'll need to visit several to find the one which best suits your needs.

With the pandemic waning the hotels, bars, restaurants, beaches and other attractions are opening up. Visitors will be pleased to find many of these places have spent their downtime refreshing, remodeling & redecorating. There are also a number of new businesses opening as well. The Jomtien Complex is no exception. Some 30 gay bars, pubs, restaurants, massage places and hotels are all within a couple of blocks with the gay beach a short walk away. Finally the bar scene is returning to normal. Most bars that will re-open have, including the go-go bars, and opening hours are returning to normal... until 2 a.m. at least. The bars that have permanently closed are being replaced with new ones. The larger crowds will be found in the Jomtien Complex followed by Boyztown and Sunee. The super discounts available during the height of the epidemic are falling away. However, with careful searching, may still be found in a few places. Some signs of inflation are also showing up. You are likely to find many of the changes in the scene refreshing.

It appears that most of Thailand's COVID restrictions are being removed making traveling to the kingdom much easier if you are vaccinated. The one question that has yet to be answered are the restrictions on entertainment venues (go-go bars). The few go-go's that are open are operating under restaurant licenses serving alcohol & food until midnight. There is no go-go yet but some boys may be around. Non go-go bars are operating normally. You'll find the most action in the Pattaya 13 Soi's (Boyztown) & Jomtien Complex.

Disclaimer regarding the listing of open venues (above): I should point out that purely entertainment venues (go-go bars) remain closed except those who have obtained a restaurant license. Cut off time for alcohol service remains at 11 pm (2300). Although an entertainment establishment is listed as being open, do not expect it to be open in the way you remember it from two to three years ago. TiT.

The Telephone Pub & Restaurant is no more, a causality of Covid-19. Henceforth it will be named the Circus. So sad.

The situation in Thailand remains fluid. The "quarantine free" travel of which you speak has not been finalized. Covid testing is still required at both ends of your flight with the visitor having to 'stay' in an approved hotel to await the test results for ~24 hours. Don't expect many entertainment venues to re-open rapidly or to be serving alcohol when they do. Status of Pattaya gay bar areas: Sunee Plaza: 2-3 bars plan to re-open once visitors show up. Boyztown: It was dying before Covid. On life support. Jomtien Complex: Several changes/improvements. Mostly ready to re-open. The Babylon Bangkok’s famous gay sauna did not survive the pandemic. Sadly it won’t the reopening. The building was demolished in March.

Faros 2, Ramkhamhaeng 21 Alley, Lane 2. It can get especially hot when they have a party - anything goes, full on orgy. You'll need a shower before you leave the party and again when you get back to your hotel.

I am happy to report many of the bars have reopened, abet with restricted hours and limited entertainment / staff. Most visitors to Thailand must undergo a quarantine period, show a negative Covid virus test result and proof of health (Covid) insurance.
