    No. If you are on meds it’s essentially the same protection as taking Prep, however if you are not taking meds yes you can get other strains like HIV2

    I’m 67 and was pozzed in May. I wasn’t chasing but not doing much to prevent it. At the time I was coming out of Covid hibernation, vaccinated and delayed getting back on Prep. For myself I have no regrets. It was caught weeks after seroconversion and I’m now undetectable. I’m on Medicare, retired with supplemental insurance and not seeking a relationship. If I was younger and still working I would feel very different. It’s very individual one size does not fit all.

    I lived in the Bay Area for most of my life but Fort Lauderdale has by far the worse traffic! It takes forever to get from one point to another and Fort Lauderdale is not that big. There’s two fun bathhouses and slammers and the beach is just beautiful not to mention the great restaurants. PS has CCBC and no traffic but no beach. Because of the distance, COVID and the fact they have an asshole for governor not to mention the right wing politics I’m staying in Calif

    I never used condoms even when I was fucking women in the 80’s and 90’s and I don’t recall one asking me to put one on. I played with a lot of M/F couples too and it was always raw. I continued the same practice when I started to exclusively play with men.

    When I was diagnosed in May I was recently converted since I tested neg in March so must have been infected sometime in April. My VL was astronomical at 6.8 million and CD4 under 400. After 4 weeks on Biktarvy my VL dropped to 113. My most recent test after 3 months on treatment I’m at 34 VL and 575 CD4. I’m very pleased with my results

    Monogamy is definitely not in the cards for me and hasn’t been for over 20 years Of course I would love to find a partner but he would have to be a versatile Poz pig like myself or it just would not work.

    I have been Poz since May and my life has not skipped a beat. It’s all mental and how you process it. You have to remember that it’s no longer a death sentence like in the 80’s and 90’s. I lost a lot of friends and coworkers when I lived in SF so I know how this can be a scary diagnosis. I take one pill a day along with my other med and I stay active exercise and during the course of the day I don’t really think about it. I was lucky I did not have a bad seroconversion even though my VL was extremely high and my CD4 never went under 375. My sex drive has increased 10 fold and I love topping which I rarely did when I was negative Be positive physically and mentally !

    Here is what works for me. Take Metamucil every day. One teaspoon before a meal for best result. I only take it once a day. It firms up your stool almost to the point where you don’t need to wipe much. This allows me to douche far less and I have never had an embarrassing incident.

    I lost so many friends and coworkers during the 80’s and now that I Poz it’s amazing the drugs that have developed to stop the virus from destroying your immune system. I was diagnosed May 12 and got on Biktarvy. In 7 weeks I have gone from 6.8 million viral load to 113. Almost undetectable

    How many of you Poz men are on Biktarvy? I started taking it on May 19 and amazed how fast it works. My CD4 is way up and viral load has dropped dramatically. I’m still detectable but my dr told me it would take another month or so to reach UD. Most importantly no side effects

    I tested positive for HIV in May with a viral load of 6.8 million and a CD4 of 375 That is very high. My dr says that since I was negative for HIV in March it was a recent exposure and that’s why it was so high Any of you poz men experience high viral loads like that ?

    I was diagnosed on May 12, 2021. Prior to the pandemic I was on Prep but during lockdown I stopped taking it since I was not having sex. After 15 months of celibacy and getting fully vaccinated for Covid I started taking loads. I did not think I was going to be as active as I was prior to Covid so I was reluctant to get back on Prep. After two months of consideration I decided to get on Prep however I was pozzed during that short window. Do I regret it ? No, in fact it’s quite liberating. I got a biohazard and scorpion tattoo. I have gifted two chasers and I’m on meds with zero side effects. In fact I have less side effects on my HIV med than I did on Prep.
