its wonderful news...the 5th proof of principle that it can be done. It is not something that can be done on a mass scale...the bone marrow transplant is very difficult and some what dangerous on its own, but it will guide research to the cure. Science keeps me alive with my ART and I have been very lucky to have a very strong immune system (CD4 1100+ and CD8 1000+) for 15 years... I hope its comes soon enough to stop taking the meds and save my liver and kidneys...I am thinking about moving to a 2 drug therapy from my current 3 drug Triumeq (single dose) therapy...just to remove an additional toxin, but even thats a scary process that I am working out with my doc...Hope you don't mind the longer reply...I am excited to hear the news...and understand its still al long way to go ... Thanks for posting this on here... -

I got off Atripla 5 years ago (the Sustiva kidney issues) and went to Triumeq....not a blip in blood work nor any side effects...My doc and I are now looking at switching to Dovato, but I have reservations after read many weight gain issues...I really want to get off a 3 med to a 2 med for my livers sake ... my twitter was just suspended for NO reason...the report said the profile header pic was violent and sexually explicit...they wouldn't even allow me to change the pic... I have other friends who have been randomly purged...anyone else been suspended? Tech rumors are twitter is trying to "purge" any sex related profile and will be going after sex postings by the end of the year... Does anyone know if the videos that were taken down last year are available anywhere? I was totally surprised...I had been negative and at the time for a few years..an almost zero sex life...I was no saint, but I had not done anything risky...so I took it very hard, but it was also when the single pill regimens were coming online, as well as the concept of a <20 vL and a new term of "undetectable" was becoming more and more common with access to meds. It took a few months but I took it in stride. I had great care as I was still in the Army at the time. The fear and stigma were and still are the greatest challenges. HIV criminalization was the greatest fear and sad reality which impacted my life and career. HIV is easily managed and controlled. The stigma is not. For the newly diagnosed...reach out to others living with HIV and find your tribe and family.
