I've never given it much thought one way or another. Valtrex is better IMHO. Everyone's immune system is different and react differently to various things. And everyone has varying triggers to HSV, stress, lack of sleep, sunlight exposure... I went years thinking buiding resistance was the way to go but it never really happened for me. For the hell of it participated in a study. They gave me a script for valtrex at the end and I tried it. Have been on it daily ever since. Rarely have an outbreak. Skin texture and tone is even better when not having outbreaks.
