The low down on Palm Springs

Looking at visiting PS later in the year around Oct, Nov or Dec.

When's the best month to go? Is it better to go for Leather Pride, Pride, Cum union or another event?

And is it worth staying at CCBC for those events or is it too far out?

Sleazy: I live 45 minutes from Palm Springs and go out there fairly often. Maybe once and sometimes twice a week. I have stayed at CCBC. That's a local favorite and can get pretty raunchy with a lot of raw action. It is a little far out from the nightlife but there are plenty of options for drinks like the Tool Shed and the Barracks. As for the other resorts, I have stayed at a few and they can all be hit or miss. If you're looking to be a total pig then probably CCBC. Regarding the events, I have never had the nerve to go to the Cum Union events but I know they are quite popular. Leather Pride and Pride in general are somewhat smaller events compared to other Southern California functions.

It really depends on what you're looking for, Sleazy. First off, like most cities in SoCal, Palm Springs is spread out so you'll want to have a car to get around. Using a taxi is expensive. Flight options into Palm Springs may be limited yet Ontario is 1 hr away and may have more options. Having a car will give you many options on where to stay.

CCBC is in (very) adjacent Cathedral City and can be a fun place for playing at night and while it's closer to Barracks and it's infamous Sunday afternoon/evening beer bust, it's not really near some of the other bars, restaurants and other resorts in Palm Springs proper. Again, not an issue with a car. The CumUnion party is held monthly at CCBC and can be fun. There are a number of gay resorts in PS. Helios in Palm Springs is a smaller and much nicer resort than CCBC that has a monthly (mostly BB) party hosted by Matt Sizemore and usually another porn star guest. Great party. There's often BB parties in north Palm Springs on Sat nites, hosted by PSpigslut on BBRT, in the 6-car garage of his home that he's turned into a pretty nice play space. All 3 parties are always posted on BBRT. PSpigslut's parties really start at their stated 8:00p time, get bust quickly and then cycle out by 10:00-10:30. They're often on the same night as Matt Sizemore's parties that generally get going after their stated 9:00p start time---like 10:00-10:30---so it's possible to pig out at both in the same night. Trust me. Late Oct-early Nov is a great time to visit with warm days and cooler nights. Leather Pride is on the weekend of Oct 30-Nov 2 this year. Gay Pride Weekend is the following weekend of Nov 8-9. There will likely be play parties both weekends so, depending in how much time you can spend in PS, it's possible to do both. If you can only do one I'd suggest you make your decision based on what kind of men you're into. Leather Pride is a smaller event, yet heavier on the butch/leather crowd. Tool Shed and Barracks bars are packed then. Pride itself brings a larger crowd from twinks to some fetish guys. Hunters, Spurline, Toucans bars are packed as well as Barracks and Tool Shed.

Above comments are all good. I only add that December is generally the coldest and wettest month of the year--although not this year. Just pick a time and come. Don't worry because you'll come back again. There is so much fun to be had. You can also do some day trips to LA. You do need a car to get around. Hope you have fun.

I've been going to PS 2 or 3 times a year for more than 20 years. My personal preference is the hottest months of the summer -- although the days are scorching hot, the evenings are hot enough to be naked and playing outside. I've stayed at most of the larger gay resorts -- and CCBC isn't among my favorites due to it's somewhat remote location, and I don't like the fact that they charge a resort fee in addition to the room rate AND every guest you invite over or comes back to your hotel with you from the bar has to pay for a guest pass. I like Canyon Club, Mirage/Vista Grande, and All Worlds Resort. None of them are luxurious, but they are adequate for the average sex pig's needs. I have been to Cumunion parties among the others mentioned and they're all a great time. As others have said, a car IS a requirement. Whatever resort you pick, make sure it sells day and/or night passes so you get some horny traffic. After all of my trips, I actually have a little harem of locals that fill my dance card for the most part.

If I may add a thought there-- I did PS for my birthday/Memorial Day weekend/Nasty Kink pig weekend last year. Lets be upfront about 1 thing-Palm Springs is wonderful- but from Monday morning thru Friday afternoon, it can be very, very quiet- and if you are staying at a gay resort shelling out big money, you should have a packed pool to admire. So, I stayed at a Motel 6 right around the corner from Warm Sands and the cruisy area and a block from the ToolShed. Yeah, the sheets are 150 thread instead of 600, and the towels are smaller- but the room is something like $49 bucks versus $150 or more at a gay resort. AND- construction crews and laborers tend to stay at a Motel 6 during the week when out in the desert on a project- so you might get some blue collar cock. Most of the gay spots have day passes; and special mid week days when they are busier. Helios on Tuesday from noon til 5p has a silver daddy gathering- $10 day pass and maybe 50 guys at the pool or play room. Wednesday the CCBC resort has half price pass day/night, so the guys tend to head there for the cheaper entry ( and the week I was there they had a noon BBQ included !) Once you get in and get a feel for the city, you will discover which resort is the one to hit on any given day-- and even if you go to a resort and pay $10 to hang by their pool and it isn't jamming- so what- at least you aren't paying out $150 for solitude when you are hunting sleaze. Now, ass far as weekends- I definitely would suggest doing one of the resorts- All Worlds is a blend of what used to be 4 gay resorts, they have quite a few drop in on day or night passes, and have a video /encounter room with a sling in it ( I got fucked 90 minutes on the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend in that sling) CCBC is sleazy throughout and the nature trail and video buildings are always a good hook up --and with the layout of the rooms up on a hillside, cruising is an aspect of the property . The local gay weekly is online and is the DesertDailyGuide usual url ending. With a car- 2 things non sexual ( mid week maybe?? things to def do if you love hikiing/nature. Just above and west from PS is Whitewater, and there is a road off the interstate that will take you up the canyon. Used to be able to park and cruise the stream, but it has been closed off - ahem- due to fire danger ( and the gay men fucking along the stream too far away for the sheriff to get to them has nothing to do with it )BUT follow the road all the way up to the end, and Nature Conservancy has bought the land at the top- you can park safely and for free, and hike up or down the stream at your leisure. You might be lucky to be there while the condors are nesting- or you might find your own wildlife along the pathways. Donations for the upkeep ARE ASKED but not mandatory. The other thing, esp if you are in from the UK- is to explore for a day all of Joshua Tree National Forest east of Palm Springs. You could spend a month exploring this natural resource- and only scratch the surface of things to see and witness up there. While not a cruising spot, I did score there as well <g> And, I suppose the Tram is in order- out on the north end of the city and at the top of the mountain, it is one of those items you do as a tourist so you can see the sight, experience the ride up, and maybe do some walking around the top of the mountain and see some things you can take back to home and tell everyone about

PS- PS is in the desert, as are rattle snakes, so don't go reaching under a rock or tree branch without knowing whats under there- in 20 years of visiting PS I have SEEN 2 rattlesnakes, and thought I heard one in the underbrush along the Whitewater stream once. Have fun, take pictures, and come back again

Awesome info here guys. I'll be in PS next weekend for White Party -- this will be my third time there, but I'm staying at CCBC for the first time and had wondered what it was like. From the replies in here it sounds like it will be a nice, cum sloppy weekend for me! :)

Ok so I'm coming to PS in May. CCBC seems to be booked for most of the dates that I am there. I am looking at Helios as a possibility then? Unless anyone has any suggestions. Does Matt Sizemore run Helios? As he seems a lot to do with it.

Any other recommendations? I am looking for non stop fucking while Im there. So need a busy resort and also easy access for bringing guests in.
