I'm more conservative when it comes to tatoo's I think they can be really hot, or horrendous. The other thing I always think about in regards to tatoo's is how they will look or be in 20 years. Certain tatoos are just going to look awful. Stuff on the ass, and (for me) belly button tatoo's are going to be regrets for most people. Hell I have friends from high school who got sonic the hedghog tatoo'ed on them, now, they want it gone so bad. There's a porn star who also has his asshole tatoo'ed and I think it is awful.

Mind you these are just my opinion, However I do think more people should take more time thinking about their tatoos before they get them.

I'd never get one by my doing. If I was in a relationship though that lasted over a year and was really into the guy and he wanted me to get one I'd do it in an instant. If it was longer than a few years I'd probably get a tramp stamp in his name.

I'm old school. I'm not big on tattoos. Not because they aren't beautiful or hot... But they have a very real shelf life.

Everyone thinks they understand that they're making a life long commitment to that statement they want to make... but we've all seen the past her prime cashier with an extra 40 pounds on her and what doubtlessly looked like a jaunty butterfly or kitten paw print, that now just makes her look old and hard.

Tatts fade, run and no matter how "original" and skillfully illustrated the work (and there ARE some tremendously TALENTED artists tattooing these days) Nothing stays fresh forever and what ever you have to say today, I will guarantee you will see differently in 15 years.

THE worst thing you can permanently scribe into your skin is anything that someone else might consider offensive, like a racial slur or a something blatantly sexual. It MIGHT make you an attraction in certain circles right now... but you may have a hard time later when you met mr right and he's not so impressed, or his parents aren't....

If you're going to get ink, choose art over politics and give yourself some wiggle room when it comes to locations. You may be glad some day to be able to hide your exuberance with a t-shirt.

As for tramp stamps... Personally, they're probably the cheapest looking thing you can have. Even when you're perfect and young and hot, a tramp stamp makes you look like sex is all you have to offer. I'm a dedicated slut and getting bred is a passion, but "I" like to choose when I let that side of me out and for whom. I don't need to advertise my availability so that every guy I choose can think I'll let anything fuck me.

Butt tattoos are a turn off for me with the exception of the big ones that start on the side of the hip and go down the leg - they're not really butt tattoos - they just happen to occur a bit on the butt.

Tramp stamps I'm fine with. A few of them are turn ons, but most I'm just ambivalent about.

I agree about the permanence of tattoos and how they can go out of fashion or stop being relevant for the person. You have to think twice before getting tattooed.

Got mine over 20 years ago and don't regret. No one sees it unless I choose, can be "refreshed" if I like with coloring, etc...and is large and bold enough to make a statement that hasn't faded over the years.
