What Kind Of Tattoos Look Good On Bears/Chubs?

I've never gotten a tattoo 'cause I couldn't imagine one that would look good on me. I mean I think tattoos look great on thin and muscular guys, but not sure I like them so well on guys with my body type. Here's a pic of my body from last year anyone want to suggest a tattoo that would look good on me?

I should mention I think tattoos look best when they've got a design to them. I really don't like random tattoos on random parts of the body.

If I had to get one now I'd probably say something on my shoulder or maybe an entire "sleeve" tattoo (though that would take a fair amount of commitment).

Oh, the other reason why I don't get a tattoo is 'cause I hate needles... At least with piercings the needle part is over quickly.

I have a couple small ones. I think whatever you get should be something that has meaning to you and you know what it means. Once you get past that hurdle then where it goes, how big and ornate is secondary.

As to what tats on different men look like, that's tough to me. Sometimes full wraps look good on some dudes, not on others. Little detail stuff like stars or a biohazard logo in the right place can be sexy. Tribal designs are always hot, but kinda getting out of style (IMO) And that has to be considered too. You see a lot of guys who get all kinds of ink that looks exactly like everyone elses, picked it off the wall at the tat studio. If you like it that's cool but it is YOUR body. Be original.

Ultimately your body type can change, you never know. But your tats usually cant. In my lifetime I have been 175 to 250 and back to 180 and up to 210 and back down to 175. You never know. Luckily I got small spot tats that dont depend on my body size to make them work or not.

If you can find a really good artist who has done some work you liked, sometimes their advice on this specific area is good too.

You know, I've wanted to get a tattoo for years myself, and I've always had this exact same problem...I have no idea what would look good or what I want. I've always liked the tribal stuff but never went ahead with it because I've been hearing they're going out of style since the late '90s :)

For me tats on the calf are so hot. I prefer simple desights, like a band or barbed wire. But yeah, the calfs. Makes me so horned up when I see a guy in shorts and he has tats on his legs.

I think it's always wise to bear in mind the "business suit" or even "polo shirt" rule. Only have tattoos in those areas that will be covered by those clothes. You never know what kind of employment you might need to apply for in the future.

This TRUE, especially if you plan to get sexual or lifestyle explicit ink. The world can change, your way of making a living might need to change. You dont want to be applying for a job as a bank teller with a leatherman getting violently buttfucked by a Sarah Palin beast figure on your forearm. Though that sounds kind of sexy.

I've seen guys get tats on their face. While that looks kind of cool, they better hope they have an income and job locked in for life.

Well, I trolled through my pics of porn stars with tattoos and finally came up with a tattoo style I think will look good on me - the "sleeve" Bo Dean has (see below)... There were ones that I saw that looked good on some guys, but weren't for me - I didn't want to do tribal, I didn't want to do the colorful figurative stuff (that often involves red flames), I didn't want to celtic, I didn't want to do one of those blocky south pacific ones either. Bo's sleeve is is a nice compromise - I'm not sure what sort of label you'd put on it. It has complexity and depth without going overboard.

I think in another pic you can see he's got a naked lady in there - not sure I'd want that exactly - lol - but I'm a Sagatarian so I could see incorporating a centaur with a bow and arrow. I've always thought the archery metaphor was appropriate for a breeder top. But it has to be really subtle - a man-horse archer could be really tacky if it's done wrong. So some figurative elements, but also a fair amount of pattern... I think I'd also sorta reserve a spot under my arm near my arm pit for a biohazard symbol in the event I test poz at some point in the future. I'm also thinking of having the name of my lover who died incorporated somehow... That's the nice part of Bo's sort of design - I can do all of those things and it's still a cohesive tattoo...

My boyfriend thinks that tattoo will cost me $5,000 to $10,000. Does anyone know for sure? Like me, my bf has no tattoos and so he's just pulling a number out of his ass. I found something online that said full sleeve tattoos take about 20 hours at $150/hr - so that's a lower number, but I know I'm going to be picky and want a good tattoo artist, so I could see double that amount...

And any idea who in New York can do that sort of work? I need an original design plus execution. Montréal would be good too - I could see going up there a 2-3 times until it's done and it's sorta a tattoo-friendly city with lots of under-employed creative types...

She seems to have forward thrusting breasts and Barbie hair. Looks like a woman to me.

Or a really good drag queen....

That is some really cool ink. I think I'm leaning more towards the traditional single blue color if and when I do get one of my own. My only concern about getting a sleeve like your porn star has is that there can be professional consequences (or maybe not, given how mainstream tats are becoming with younger people).

I love the idea of incorporating Sagittarian-archery motifs. I like tattoos that have special significance to the person who has them. I'm pretty sure that I'll incorporate a biohazard into mine (if and when I get one), although it may be a bit more stylized and worked into the overall design. I'm not a big fan of the random tattoos in random parts of the body look either, even if they do all have significance.

I think you should get a big red plus above your dick with the letters HIV in the horizontal bar of the plus sign. That would be hot.

Ummm... My last test was neg... You're sorta getting the cart before the horse... ;)

Actually, I've been rethinking the whole full sleeve idea. I've got hairy forearms (see pic below) and I think it would be weird to have a tattoo under the hair. I like tattoos under furry chest hair, and maybe even going into pubic hair, but not hair on a forearm. And looking at guys with tattoos they just don't put tattoos in hairy areas (except maybe the chest).

Thoughts on tattoos in hairy areas? Sometimes, but not this time, right?
