I live in Northern Ireland, where circumcision is very rare - except for medical reasons ( although more common in older, middle and upper class males ).

I regret I was circumsized, but I'm in the process of restoring my "fauxskin". In this country, the UK, circumcision is very uncommon. Well unless you are Jewish or Muslim. I happen to be of the opinion that circumcision of children is wrong and totaly un nessecary. We have a foreskin for a reason. If it was not supposed to be there, we wouldn't have them in the first place.

First of all, I've seen two articles in the local paper this month about people being arrested for genital mutilation of their FEMALE children, yet this goes on for males daily with no fuss. Religious reasoning aside, there are nations (even islamic countries) which are banning clothing that cover the face (burkas) for women, but we still allow circumcision for boys. Nations in Africa are making homosexual activity illegal, punishable by death, to curb the spread of HIV, and at the same time advocating adult circumcision because of false reports that cutting off part of your dick will reduce the spread of viruses like HIV and HPAV. Even here n the US, doctors advocated the practice based on 'hygiene' and 'convenience', just so that they could reap an additional $20 in medical costs from their Maternity patients.
