seems congress is going to make all these sites responsible for any sex traffic ads  even know they are not placing them or profiting from them seems just another bad idea by congress      we all will have to go back in the woods   lol

WOW. I had no idea this was going to happen!

From whitehouse.gov..

President Donald J. Trump applauds the Senate for passing H.R. 1865, the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act.  This bipartisan piece of legislation takes an important step forward in fighting the despicable act of human trafficking.

Says the man that paid Stormy Daniels and a number of other women for sexual intercourse. FUCK HIM.

Since this law is all about trafficking, any site that someone posts an ad for a "generous" partner will have the same issue. Say goodbye to pretty much all hookup sites that don't want to fight this in court.

Thanks to the sexually repressed republicans.

Oh, before you flame me about republicans....the bill was sponsored by a republican.

AND, if you think this is bad, wait till pence is sworn in.

It's specifically due to the presence of escorts/prostitutes posting ads, and Craigslist not being able to filter them all out of the system. In my area at least, it's difficult to browse ads without coming across a number of escorts and prostitutes advertising their services. That's partially on Craigslist, as their terms specifically prohibit those ads in the first place. I know I've had ads flagged for no legitimate reason, meanwhile ads looking for a "generou$ contribution" stay up for weeks on end, so they clearly have a moderation problem. A few years back there was also that guy who tried to hire a hit man in the adult gigs section, which is why Craigslist deleted it altogether...

With that in mind, this bill is a bunch of partisan bullshit. Despite how much our legislators and president (ugh) love sex workers, they pose a significant threat to core "values" these legislators hold. I do believe sex trafficking is pure evil, but Craigslist shutting down their personals section is working proof that this law isn't a targeted solution. It's legal overreaching to kill multiple birds with a single stone. Maybe Craigslist really was a hub for sex trafficking and I never encountered an ad using the service to promote it, but I've seriously never seen a single ad that in any way indicates that pattern.

I was shocked to see nothing in my inbox this morning and figured I'd better check my ad to see if it expired, but instead saw a message from Craigslist. I thought maybe I was flagged or blocked again but it's far worse!

I'm against human trafficking but am stunned as I get a lot of anon hookups off CL. What's the best alternative? Been using CL since I was 15...just crushed.
