if the law referred to here was passed by the house of rep. in 2014, it was NOT 'on the books.' it would have had to be reintroduced in 2017, passed in the house, and then in the senate as it was last week.

I am no escort nor prostitute but I am shocked to see your Trump is bringing back the US in the 18th century instead of going forward in a open minded world that is nice & good for people, nature & all living beings (both animals & humans) What's next to cum, forbidding homosexuality back?

This isn't a Trump thing. The bill has bipartisan support in both chambers.

Backpage spurred this bill, which is ironic due to how things are going. Backpage tried to hide behind section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. We found out they played an active role in sex ads and section 230 doesn't cover that. So the strongest argument for this law is not an argument at all.

to me with the hours and hours of man power this will take. i would just archive the whole site and then wipe it clean with the new rules in effect and start fresh. i know  you would lose a lot of great stories and such  but would be more effective and efficient not to miss anything that is worded wrong. also you personally would have the ability to copy old stories from archive when wanted. seems the quickest and safest way of doing this  then life goes on safe and secure.

Just adapt the vocabulary to words like CONSORT, It’s a “Companion” This is a game with words they aren’t going to win

They’re are ways around this, This is America free speech is in our constitution and I don’t think even congress has the power to take away something that’s a constitutional right?

So stupid Americans and their hang ups ovef nidity, profanity and the F@** BIBLE. Most dangerous book EVER written because of how it’s taken into context.

Almost every female character in the Bible was a prostitute, hooker or a whore, Christ that’s where we get the term jesabelle the Bible.,

Sex trafficking goes back long before Jesus and suddenly now it’s a issue?   WTF

Its the worlds oldest profession, Does this now make it a brothel or sex worker illegal to do their job in states like NV??

They're already at trying to ban transgendered people from serving in the armed forces and remove protections against discrimination towards LGBTQ people.

It's stupid right wing fundamentalist nut jobs co-opting an honourable initiative to protect kids, and refusing to get our input and that of sex workers as to how to implement such an undertaking.

A few more changes I should mention that I'm making… Non-members (people who aren't logged in) will no longer be allowed to read posts in the straight area or in the trans area except in the fiction areas. They'll be able to see that those areas exist, but that's all. Too much of the escort stuff is tied to straight and trans members. It's too much work and not my passion, so I'm discouraging their use of the site.

I'm also going through all members who said they were female and deleting 95% of them. They're mostly call girls who post a profile and are never seen again.

And (this one will make some of you very happy)… After all of this is done, and I finish off the project that I interrupted to deal with this… I'll be writing something to prune the membership roles. Your profile will be deleted if meets the following criteria:

  1. You have made no forum posts,
  2. AND made no blog posts,
  3. AND one of the following:
    1. You haven't logged in for 6 months and you were active for less than a month,
    2. OR You haven't logged in for a year

Isn't it wonderful that the clown signing this into law is on a KGB sex tape, in a hotel room, pissing on a prostitute, and calling her Hillary"; such a fine example to everyone who voted for him!

I'd love to see that tape, only to laugh at how pathetic he is

The bill passed through the Senate 97-2. The whole Senate truly can't be "right wing fundamentalist nut jobs" - can they?

Wonder who the "2" were ...

Ron Wyden and Rand Paul voted against it. I was referring the idea that all Americans are beholden to the bible and are prudish. I wouldn't be surprised to see a lawsuit filed against this the moment the bill becomes law.

Rawtop,

Whatever you need to do to protect yourself and this site which I love you need to do.  I want this site to continue. This latest legislation will undoubtedly be reviewed by our court system, but in the mean time you need to protect your ass and do what you need to do to further that end.   I support your every effort to do so.

I thought that it may have been the 2 NV Senators, seeing as prostitution is legal there.

From what I've read Nevada is now considering legislation to close their brothels because of this legislation. This legislation is going way beyond the sex trafficking it was supposed to prevent because of its wording.  It is extreme and let's hope the courts intervene to stop it!
