Hydration. Drink water regularly each day. I use coconut oil for cleaning and playing with myself, then any good silicon lube that is on hand, water based if the only option and reapply as needed.

If the question was about sex toys instead of getting fucked bare? I'd definitely say go with water-based lube. Silicon and Oil lubes can both degrade/destroy sex toys (depending on what's in the lube and what materials are in the toy). Also, non-water lubes can be tricky to clean up (as discussed), meaning it can be difficult or impossible to clean/sanitize your toys for next time. When I was younger, I used dildos more often, and I would apply water-based lube, and just add some spit if the lube dried out (though when playing solo, I usually don't go long enough to need to worry about lube drying out).

I love JO Water-based lube. Keeps my hole sloppy and wet. A little bit goes a long way

I discovered Albolene as well......JO enthusiast's perfect lube....officially a make up remover which is cheap in any drug store.......realized how great it is for sucking and fucking too hanging out with a buddy edging, porn, swapping head.  went to fucking and rimming and the Albolene was slick without being sticky at all or oily on my face.  Not much taste at all so great for ATM or eating hole after fucking too!  Not great for heading "out" due to the container, but excellent for "hosting"

My husband and I use Gun Oil.  We have tried lots of different kinds, and this works the best for both of us.
