Adverse reaction to poppers?

I had a fun lunch date today, when i got to his place he had 3 different bottles of poppers. Super rush, something brazil and a third.  I am pretty sure i huffed from each to see the affect it had while getting fucked. I didn't feel anything wrong during the fun but now i have a splitting headache (which has happened before) but also my finger tips are blueish tint.

Normal reaction to too much poppers? (I've used them a lot in the past without issue)

Did it happen because i used different ones during same session?

Any advise is appreciated.

That would be a blood pressure issue I would imagine. Get yourself checked out.

Without knowing your specific health stats this would be my guess. Poppers cause your blood pressure to drop which can cause headaches. The fact that your finger tips went blue is a sign that it went pretty low. Can't say why it happened this time and not others (possible you had too much too quickly during this session?)

In any event please get your blood pressure checked. If it turns out you have low bp I'd avoid poppers altogether as they could cause your bp to drop to dangerously low levels.

If your bp is fine I'd still consider giving the poppers a break. In my personal experience I've found you can lose sensitivity if you overuse them and will need to huff more to get the same effect. If thats the case with you, a couple weeks break should reset your sensitivity.

Good luck.

As you know they started with medical staff bringing home Amyl Nitrate, in a glass tube cased in mesh, that you are SUPPOSED to break and use to start a heart. Smelling Salts is packaged identically, for waking people up.

Butyl Nitrate is similar to Amyl Nitrate but legal.

But an accelerated heartbeat is NOT good for you.

It’s like Nitrous Oxide for a car (or propane for a diesel). Oddly Nitrous Oxide  apparently won’t hurt people very much, and gives you a sexual rush and a cute smile.  NOTE: they  add something to the shit they sell for cars that will make you puke.

Whip-its, or any aerosol whipped cream, has Nitrous Oxide as a propellant that is availabe if you don’t shake it up.

As far as I know how poppers work is that the has you sniff for a short time replaces some of the oxygen in your blood meaning the heart beats more etc.

Sniff too much and yes you will get blue lips and fingertips etc and headaches

Once went to sexual health screening appointment straight from a long session.  Apparently I looked like a corpse   was put on oxygen and they called an ambulance which took me to a and e   (only to be discharged within 30 minutes)

Been to parties and bathhouses where I have hit poppers so long that my finger nails and toe nails were blue, this was likely due to me hitting them almost non stop all night. Had a popper hang over the next day. Headaches are normal and they subside rather quickly. Def do not hit poppers with Viagra, was at a party one night and the host passed out right after a big hit. You should have seen the house empty. We gave him lots of fresh air and cold compress and he came right back.  He ended taking my load less than 10 minutes after waking up.

Methemoglobinemia is a well-known adverse effect of nitrites/nitrates and may be the cause of the cyanotic fingers you’re experiencing. It can be dangerous at high levels of methemoglobin, as the methemoglobin (an altered form of hemoglobin formed by the nitrates) is much less efficient at delivering oxygen to peripheral tissues. This is an effect that is mechanistically unrelated to hypotension and the vasodilatory effects of the nitrates, and the onset occurs after the vasodilatory effects. On the extreme end of things, patients with methemoglobinemia can become hypoxic and can develop CNS depression and/or a metabolic/lactic acidosis. This generally occurs with very heavy popper usage. The cyanotic symptoms described sound consistent with mild methemoglobinemia, but it’s hard to tell without a work up. Hope this helps!

I wanted to thank you all for your advice and the additional knowledge shared with me. I am not a frequent user, i use only when i play and that isnt often. They are the only way I loosen up sufficiently.  Ive got a scheduled appt with a good doc who has worked with me before and is the reason i am on prep.

Yes, read usccocksucker’s post! That’s correct.  Don’t over estimate the lowered blood pressure effect.  As some have noted, if you use Viagra and Poppers u will likely pass out.  I have seen a top pass out at a sex club due to this effect...definitely clears a room!!!
