Body hair insecurity

I've seen topics debating hair vs smooth at various times here, but I don't think I've seen the discussion framed around how body hair or lack thereof influences confidence. For me body hair is like this specter hanging over my head whenever I go out to play. Being a non-smooth bottom feels like a curse in some ways, like I'm falling short of my potential. There's this envious part of me that sees smooth guys getting fucked and wishes I wasn't afflicted with the level of hair on my body. Of course this could be the result of porn fantasy exerting its very specific vision of reality in a negative way, and I recognize that possibility, but recognition doesn't change much of anything.

I know different guys have different preferences, and from what I've seen there's a fairly even split between guys who find it attractive and those who don't (ironically I'm in the former camp), even though it feels like there's a majority percentage with a smooth preference. In catering to my mental preference divide, I have experimented with shaving and trimming. While I absolutely love the look and feel of being artificially smooth, the huge amount of daily maintenance is overwhelming, and even when I do go through routine upkeep the presence of stubble limits the amount of confidence I gain.

So I guess my question is: are you comfortable with your level of body hair? If not, how do you deal with it?

I'm 50-50. Hairy legs, arms, chest and tummy but smooth in the back, including my butt (except for crack). I do trim my chest hair (a bit) and pubes and sometimes shave my ass crack but nothing else. Don't feel uncomfortable with the amount of hair but I can imagine some are. Even smooth guys who wish they had hair (the opposite)!

That statement answers your question for me  and I feel the same way!  From about age 20-45 I kept my chest shaved smooth and pubes trimmed way down.  I feel sexier when I'm smooth which I finally realized was making me more confident too, subconciously I guess.  The last few years it's varied, more depending how lean I am.  I never found it to be all that much trouble though - just keep a razor in the shower and it really just took a minute or two every couple days with soap and razor......trimmer once a week on the pubes.  I honestly do like different types but lean guys (twinks or bodybuilders) that are 100% smooth/shaved do it for me every time!  But hot is hot - can't help but think of Aarin Asker, total porn power bottom and VERY hairy body and ass and HOT AS FUCK to me.  But your question is more about confidence, so my opinion is to go with what makes you feel better about your own body and look, and the confidence spills over - like your fuck hole hopefully

Funny think is I'm not very hairy, just my Legs. My dad was a really hairy guy so I think naturally I've always like a more hairier guy. I always wanted to be more hairier, but theirs a point you realize. You are what you are you just gotta accept it. In western culture hair is very much tied to masculinity and when you're more of a top their tends to be than want for the hairy masculine look. That ain't me. I find I try not to focus too much on the things I don't have and focus on the positives I do.  It did take a while to get their. I does not happen over night.

First off, i think you are fucking gorgeous. Your combination of personality and looks is a total meltdown for me lol. 

For some reason, the darker a guys skin, the more i psycologically associate them with Top or Dom.  No logic to it that i can discern, but Latino, black, tanned guys all impact me as more top while pale, hairless strikes me as bottom.  It's totally a visual for me. Once personality enters in, any 'look' can be Top or bottom, personality trumps looks for me. Hairy is definitely a visual top for me, though i prefer less hairy guys generally speaking.

There's no accounting for the "taste" (of lack thereof) of other men. I'm very upfront and open about myself, and I seem to attract the kind of guys who like a big hairy Daddy pig. I’ve always loved being hairy and I find a guy’s body hair (including my own) to be totally sexy.  The only thing I do as far as “manscaping” goes is shave my balls since I don’t like my cockring or harness pulling my pubic hairs.  That’s about it - the rest is natural.  When I was younger (20s/30s) I used to shave my back because such a large number of Miami guys were (and still are) usually such prima donnas that anything  as natural as a hairy back is an immediate disqualifier for a hookup.  There’s definitely still a lot of body hair-shaming  going on out there.  Now I’m older, more comfortable with my pig self, hang out with the more down-to-earth pigs in Fort Lauderdale, and can’t be bothered to worry about nonsense like that  anymore - if someone’s that shallow and squeamish about your body hair I doubt the sex is going to be worth the time or the trouble.  Quite frankly I’ve always found hairy, natural pigs are much sexier and a hell of a lot much more fun to play with.

I’m Armenian and have been hairy since my early teens. When I started attending Junior High I was mercilessly body shammed for being the hairiest kid in school. That continued thru high school. I was called every vile name you could think of by a bunch of asshole white kids. That  shame carried with me thru my early adulthood. I'm not the hairiest dude out there but I have a moderate amount of chest and ass hair. I always used to wish I was smoother, particularly when I was in my early 20s. I know exactly how you feel OP. I’m a little bit hairy all over which is a nightmare - it’s a pain to keep smooth (which most guys like) and I absolutely detest body stubble, but I’m not hairy enough to fall into the otter category.

Worst of all is my ass. Every now and then I find that special guy who is really into hairy ass but most don’t like it. I got it waxed for a while but that’s expensive (and painful). I was super confident when smooth though. Seriously considering laser removal now.
