Going off PrEP during lockdown

My country has just gone into lockdown with everyone home and no socialising. I won’t be having any sex for at least 4 weeks. So I thought I would stop taking my daily PrEP for three weeks and then restart. There’s about a 0% chance of sex in the meantime but if it was likely I could do the 2-1-1 or if necessary use a condom. It would mean I have a three week supply which would be handy if there are delays in getting prescription refilled. It might be good for my body to have a break from the drug perhaps. On the other hand some people seem to think PrEP may be helpful in countering the coronavirus, I think that unlikely but wondered what others were doing (maybe  others are still fucking around, that’s not the option I favour as my partner is vulnerable).

I’ve done the same - my partner is older and would be at very high risk if he caught it, so until things settle down I won’t be messing around (if I’m even going out at all). I’ll have a few weeks of PrEP left over as well, who knows what I’ll do once the quarantine is over

I’ve gone off PrEP also but it’s because I scared of the long term damage it does to your body. I have been on PrEP since I turned 15 I’m 19 now.

damn what a hot young ass!  curious if you plan to go back on it when corona is past.  I hesitated to go on Prep 5 years ago due to the long term side effects.  But I went "off condoms" almost 20 years ago and was getting riskier and riskier letting more guys top me and more vers barebackers cum in my ass.  I rationalized I better get on it or I was bound to get pozzed and be on some drug probably MORE toxic to my body for the rest of my life.

Personally I've been really sporadic about taking my Prep.  I used to take it like clockwork, but I'm SOOOO out of my routine and just don't think about it half the time.  I used to go to the gym every morning before work and take it while I was packing my bag.  Now I'm not doing that and figure I'm not having sex anyway, so just don't think about it.  I did have two fuckbuds hit me up yesterday to play (one poz, other prep), but I've been pretty hardcore about resisting and haven't caved so far.

Would love to breed you when this is all over, before you go back on PrEP 😉

But yeah, there's no need for guys to take PrEP if they're not having sex. And unless they're fucking someone in their household, they shouldn't be having sex right now.

I just decided yesterday to stop my Descovy for the duration, despite the fact that I'm becoming desperately horned to be fucked and bred.  So I find myself watching more porn that usual, as well as FTing and texting with some buds while we work tits together and they jack off and cum.  If we survive this I'm  gonna have an "Open House - Block Party" in my ass!

Same here, not taking it anymore since I'm not going to be hooking up anytime soon, even with my regular buddies.

Just not worth taking the risk right now, especially with all of the college idiots bringing it back into town. We only had a few cases in my county, all travel related who were smart enough to self isolate when they came home (Spain, Italy, and Seattle) so they didn't spread it around. Even with the university shut down and only doing online classes, we still had enough students come back from Spring Break, and even some coming back from Italy and Spain, that they spread it around and now it's loose.

My doctor and I were going to discuss switching to Descovy anyway on my next visit, so might as well let my system clear out the other before switching.

I've been taking it less often. Instead of daily, it's now closer to 3-4 times a week. I don't want to refrain from opportunities for 3+ weeks to cycle back on it when I can just be ready to go. A lot of guys are going to have pent-up sexual energy as soon as they're permitted to release it, and we ought to be ready for them.

I'm single and I'm down to about 15 pills left in my 3-month prescription, so saving them for when we are done with our shelter in place ordinance. I'm due for a refill, but I need to go to the clinic to have my STI screenings again — it's just not ideal to try get that done right now.

Indeed it is not ideal. I had to get treated and tested right before the Toilet Paper Madness began, and they wanted to do bloodwork to re-approve the Truvada. So I did it, and got the result the next day. And then the madness started. They were in a rush to deal with my thing before the other one started.

Hey guys I am about to stop prep for a while too.  I have been on daily prep for almost 2 years now. So my last piggy play was on 12th march (damn best orgy in ages!) when should i take the last pill to be on a safe side? I get my prep from overseas and clinic was recommending 4 weeks after last sex but taking into consideration there is on demand prep and all other variations I find this a bit too much! It's been over 2 weeks now and I feel like I can stop safely right now. What's the way of doing it and recommendations on that? Thanks boys!
