Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong, but it seems to me that if you can reopen a gym, you can reopen a bathhouse. I think a fair way to do it is to say that based on the square footage (or metres), you can have a maximum of this number of occupants at one time. It will be up to the bathhouse how to make that work financially. Maybe it is a 4 hour time limit? Higher entry fees? You might have to provide personal information for contact tracing, which might scare off the married guys. It's impossible to police everyone and every establishment to guarantee that people are social distancing, so why bother? Just ensure that it's possible to social distance and leave it up to the adults to decide if they are willing to risk catching the virus to be in that establishment, whether it is a gym, bar, restaurant, bathhouse etc.

I guess the main difference is that in the bathhouse, people are expected to have lots of exchanges in bodily fluids (i.e. saliva) which carry the virus. That's not something you don't expect in the gym.

The bathhouse can seal off the dry sauna and steam room because those spaces are too tight for social distancing.  If I'm really honest with you, even with those measures, I wouldn't feel comfortable hooking up in a bathhouse right now. When we emerge from lockdown here next week, I'm inviting a fuckbud I already know - MAYBE. I still think people think this virus is not that big of a deal. This is on a whole other level than STDs and HIV. You could be out of here in less than a week if you catch it. And you can multiply those reported deaths by a factor of 10 to get a feel of the real impact of this virus.

Maybe that the way back could see the resurgence of j/o clubs. I know some, like the NY Jacks, were still around until the shutdown. Social distancing would seem easier to police in a j/o setting, though circle jerks and buddy stroking would be out. Would need some "floor monitors." Sounds like a fucking great job!

I’m starting to think it’s going to take a treatment or vaccine for bathhouses, spas, sex clubs, and ABS’s to reopen. You can’t “social distance” while stroking or sucking a cock let alone fuck. I’m sure this is gonna kill off some of clubs back in Dallas and the ABS’s here Killeen (Bell County) were ordered closed. I heard they reopened gyms in Georgia and honestly a lot of the hookups I had were at the gym I went to there. The three gyms in our area were closed so that’s not an option, dunno how likely they are to reopen soon but know there’ll be action at them.

I think you are absolutely right. A vaccine would be the silver bullet; everything could go back to the way things were in a matter of weeks. I think it is more realistic to think that we might get an effective treatment with a new or repurposed drug. Once Covid19 becomes something no one wants to catch but you know a hospital can get you cured reliably, we could begin to build good herd immunity. Things would start to go back to "normal" in a few months.

Speaking about the future re-opening of bathhouses, were the bathhouses in Georgia part of the governor's plan there to re-open? Now that would be VERY interesting!! LOL! I'm all for re-opening but let's be sensible and have a new vaccine or current medicines targeting COVID-19. Hard to have social/physical distancing if you have your tongue on a juicy cock or rimming a hole or being sucked off/fucked! We, sexpigs, need to be right in front of what we love to do or be done to us!!

There are no bathhouses around where I live but I used to visit a lot when I lived somewhere else. Unless they have a financial buffer or get financial support (private or government) for an extended time a lot of these businesses will not survive I'm afraid. No business can stay closed for months without any income and survive. And if a condition to re-open is to adhere to the social distancing rules you can forget about it. Sad but true. A lot of the bathhouses may be gone when everything returns to 'normal'.
