I agree with you, Denverscub.... if anyone knows good writing it’d be you, denverscub as I often enjoy yo ur posts as well.  It was nice to read a post from another good writer like tightwranglers.  I enjoy reading erotic stories more than watching porn and these days, I am spending more and more time reading.  And as my fantasies range widely, I enjoy many postings but oftentimes it’s the concept/plot that stimulate me but occasionally I come across a good quality writing and it’s so much more exciting and pleasurable.  SO I appreciate you guys. 😃

Between the objectification, stereotyping, and the general depiction of all black men as thugs in these stories isn't that enough? 

As someone who much deal with this in every day life, I don't want to read or see it. Even if it is fiction.

I actually alluded to this story specifically the other day in a discussion about endemic racism in gay culture and why there frequently friction between our communities.  Between the reduction to a phallus, stereotyping, and language.. I just don’t feel respect here.

I'm truly perplexed. The site in general deals with many subjects which would be considered unacceptable to society in general and in some cases illegal. 

If I am opposed to bug chasing should no one write about it of should I not read them. I personally do not like the use of term BBC which used in some perverse complimentary way by non black men but also used by black men as a form of power. Should no one use that in their writings because I see it as offensive.,

The author started his work in April. The moderator replied and added commentary in yellow. Why did you both read it so many months later and then comment. You had notification that you both would be offended.

@MIdude77 you then go further to question the race of the moderator. It is not relevant. If he was black would it be ok?  Race play is typically between two races. There are many men of color who are into race play. This aside why did the moderator's  comments not carry enough merit for you?

You perfectly illustrate why many of the issues surrounding race will never end. I don't understand why there is a need to always attempt try to equate something to race. To use your example, bug chasing is a choice. The last time I checked race and the horrible treatment of POC in the US.

I know why, but don't understand why POC must continuously justify what is offensive to them.  Have all the Mandingo complex, and race play you want. But when you are posting something in a public forum, and one of the first words is nigger, then there is an issue. That word is unacceptable to use anytime. Period. Full stop. Can you imagine had I written a story and talked about Hitler, and  ovens  all the while using  derogatory terms to describe a Jewish person? It would have been removed immediately. 

And while you may not understand the harm in using this word, if the moderator was Black they would This isn't to say a white person couldn't be empathetic, but I certainly wouldn't be here trying to explain why something is offensive. Believe people when they say they are offended. It's not up to you or anyone else to try to say if how they feel is valid or not.

You shouldn't have to justify why you are offended.  You are living the reality and have lived it your whole life.

I don't understand the need most of us white people feel to go beyond acknowledgement. Its seems like some of us take it personally even when it's not our job. Collective shame?

White people - You are going to make decisions and mistakes that you willl get called out for. Just take the note. Stop equating I made an  error in judgement with "I am embarrassed and feel shame, so I must double  down and gravitate to  the always embarrassing white splaining. The man was offended. He is the subject expert. Its no one's job to try and control his feelings.  Trying to take control over a person's autonomy is abuse and it's what got us here in the first place. 

 

The moderator stated his discomfort.  I would invite him to trust  his instincts.  I think race play is contentious at best. It makes me feel unfortable . I also see the damage done with a label like BBC. It commodifies black tops and strips them of their humanity, their name, and turns the individual into a function for white desires and demands. Its rude to say the least and a tool of White Supremacy. And how many attractive black men with much to offer but happen to be bottoms or regularly endowed get devalued right out of the gate. Rejected out of hand.  it happens all the time. My friends tell me about it. It hurts.  And despite what the white cis male dominated  porn industry sells us as the default black male there are more than enough guys who like black bottoms to justify their inclusion. And Asians. And Native Americans. So many beautiful men to choose from.

Do these white gaze objectification stories need to be to told? Is there a better less destructive way to tell them? What are the differences in white led race play or people of color led raceplay? Are there similarities?  The decision makers have their work cut out for them. Opt outs or special sections maybe?
