I think that the limited info and only one photo (unless you pay) is probably part of it. Also, I'm in San Diego, where guys are pretty picky about finding a fit dude. In the summer of 2018, two laws went into force in the USA, FOSTA/SESTA , which were intended to combat sex trafficking. Prior to that the US law held that the owner of a website was in no sense a publisher. That meant that the person who posted an ad on Craigslist was solely responsible for its content. FOSTA/SESTA created an exception to this policy for ads regarding prostitution. Craigslist felt they could not effectively police their personals section to prevent getting busted for sex work ads, so they shut it down.
