What is wrong with a Saturday evening? I have always had to take the day off in order to attend, as it is impossible to finish work at 5pm, douche etc and travel from the suburbs to the city area where they tend to be, and for a 6pm start time. . Because of this I have missed out on many, many parties (and loads).
