Have you found that you get more or less offers on dating apps since you took the decision to go bare?

I was suddenly expecting to be inundated and it has'nt happened.

Perhaps what you’re seeing is a reflection that barebacking has now become commonplace enough in the age of U=U and PrEP that it’s no longer eagerly sought on the basis of being hard to get. If a Top tells me “I only fuck bare,” my reply is both “Good, I only take it bare,” and “Okay... why would you not?”

Of course, I understand why someone would still personally choose to use a condom - they are undeniably the front-line prevention against most STDs. But with the death-spectre of HIV no longer looming immediately overhead, barebacking was bound to regain currency as the more natural method.

 If you’re relying in your claim of barebacking to generate interest in your profile, you should probably add some other attributes as well. In time, “I fuck bare” may become about as effective as “I have a nice cock” - only useful in that it isn’t a negative.

TBH I find the apps are only good for finding active cruising spots. Over this last year actual hook ups from the apps have been almost non-existent (understandably so).

That said I can't remember the last time a top has even suggested wrapping up when I have been out. And before that I don't think I was ever asked at the sauna when it was open.

You’re several years too late for that kind of rush of attention. Years ago, being an open bare backer made you stand out from the crowd, and all the guys who were dying to ditch the rubbers would pursue you. Now bare is common enough that guys have lots of choices for getting it.

Its hit or miss for me, mostly depending on the site or time I'm on. Back in the days of good old Craigslist hookups, definitely. Grindr and BBRT today yes, it seems to garner more responses especially late night hours, not so much during the day. A4A it seems to repel a lot of guys and have been outright attacked by a few dudes that got offended when I prefer raw and would prefer they dont wrap it, calling me unclean and whatnot. But with the fear of HIV waning and all the medical options available as others have said, it's less of a [banned word] to be taking loads so it's less of a torch in the dark now to draw raw tops in. They dont have to treat every loaded hole like an oasis in the desert.

You're smart to go on prep if you're gonna bareback. I've always done bare so its not like I can say what its like versus with condoms. I typically get with younger guys and maybe that's part of it...young guys just don't usually ask about condoms for sex...they just go for it no questions.
