1st Syphilis Infection

I honestly didn't suspect it was an std at first. I my hole was a little itchy but I thought it might be an allergic reaction. I don't have insurance and thought it would go away so I tried to wait it out.

6 weeks into it I noticed a rash on my balls and thighs. I broke down and went to the free clinic.

It turned out I have syphilis. I got it treated, but I can't help being turned on thinking about how slutty I've been lately. I have no idea who gave it to me, but if they wanted to give it to me again I'd willing take it.

Syphilis is notorious for looking like other things or sometimes having symptoms subtle enough that you just don't notice them. Especially if you're bottoming, when the primary sore can actually be inside where you can't see it at all.  The second time I crossed paths with it I never noticed any symptoms.

But IT CAN KILL YOU... indeed it WILL kill you (and very nastily) if left untreated.

So get tested, people!

Syphilis was my first. I had no idea and no symptoms. Doc caught it when I went in for my annual physical.

Syph is very easy to resolve. Usually a single jab of penicillin clears it right up. The most telltale obvious sign of it is when you get flat small blood spots that look like pimples but aren't on your palms that don't go away. Sometimes it also appears on your soles and from what my sexual health doctor told me, syph has been evolving to manifest more in rashes on body trunks more than limb extremities nowadays.

Only thing sucky about it is that you're out of action for at least a month to make sure that the bacteria is totally killed off in your body. Also note that you can still get residual false-positive results for months afterwards even if you're all clear; it's kinda like Covid-19 where your body will take time to shed harmless bacterial fragments that don't have any infectivity powers.

Caught it twice so far. The fucking irony is that 1) both times it came from the same fuckbuddy, and 2) it was a female fuckbuddy I had been barebacking with; I bareback with more males as a bottom than I top females, yet I caught nothing from any of the men I bottomed for whilst it was the female FWB who gave it to me. 100% certainty it was her, because after the first time I caught syph I was out of action for two months (one for my body to clear the test again, another due to Covid), I fucked her again as my first sex partner after the two-month break, and displayed the very same syph symptoms again barely three days after that session. =.= Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones that has a body immune system that reacts so quickly and thoroughly with medicine assistance.

Its the only STD I ever caught and I caught it twice.  The second time I remember sucking a guys cock and seeing a sore. I sucked him anyway and let him breed me...ended up with more than his cum.

The shots are huge. Large syringe, large needle and the solution is viscous. Its not like a flu shot...it hurts.

Once infected, the antibodies will show up for years. As long as the titer ratio decreases you are cured.

I remember seeing a  canker sore on my cock, but through it was from a leather cockring and fucking rough and forgot about it.  After a while, I started feeling tired all the time and my joints would ache.  This went on for several weeks, certainly more than a month.  I had a week of travel and again started getting really tired and then started to get a rash over my body.  The rash spread to my hands and was very noticeable.  I made an appointment with my Doc (who is an Infectious disease specialist in LA).  He opened the examination door, took one look at me and without even sitting down said I had Secondary stage Syphilis.  I got a shot and the rash took a while to heal, especially in my hands and feet.  It does show up for a while in tests, but they know what to look for.  I don’t think my Doc was surprised, he knows what a slut I am and he doesn’t bat an eye when i tell him how many people I have been with (he usually asks).

What did it look like?  I had a funny bunch of sores I thought were mosquito bites a few weeks ago...  Wonder if it was something else..  It cleared up on its own...

I hope that you’ll get tested for all STIs ASAP. This could be and sounds like syphilis. I’ve had it twice and didn’t know it till it went to secondary syphilis, which was awful. The sores go away on their own, but it is still in your body and, if left untreated, syphilis goes systemic and eventually attacks your brain and the rest of your central nervous system. It will cause a lot of pain down the road when left untreated and eventually kills.

Got diagnosed and treated for Syphilis first time in January 2022. After a week at Inn Leather FTL. Dude that fucked me in the sling in my room told me, he had a trick tell him he couldn't play because of S. I assumed that meant the pig got tested too.  I got homo on Wednesday. Thursday, dude I hung out with in FTL texted that he just tested positive for Covid. I called my Docs office to schedule STI lab work. Tuesday, Docs office called to say my blood work showed syphilis. I had no symptoms except really tired and no appetite, which I thought was Covid-19. Immediately got shots treatment like a lot of shots, 4CC of penicillin for 3 weeks. Just did follow up test yesterday(May '22) to make sure treatment was effective.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

If an individual isn't motivated to get regular STI testing for altruistic reasons, to protect partners, then the personal risk of secondary syphilis should still be enough of a motivation.

PrEP users are taken care of, because quarterly STI testing is part of the [US] guidelines.

People receiving HIV treatment are taken care of, although they should probably get STI testing more often than every half a year or every year (typical windows for general HIV-related testing for stable patients).

People not in either group should also be discussing sexual health with their doctors and adopting the same kind of regular STI testing schedule.

As you say, secondary syphilis has serious consequences.

I’ve gotten syph several times at Inn Leather… amongst many other things.

Just a note on what everyone else is saying about treatment. If, like me, you are allergic to Penicillin then you can take 2 weeks worth of Doxycycline. 1 pill twice a day. Clears it up.
