“Broke Straight Boys” - Do You Believe It Even Slightly?

There’s a thing called the ‘willing suspension of disbelief’ that is necessary for any fiction to succeed in the mind of the reader or viewer, and if the work fails to make it possible for the audience to suspend disbelief long enough to accept the basic premise, the work fails as an illusion of reality.

Just curious - am I the only one too hard-shelled to buy into this?

Or is there someone here involved in the production of “Broke Straight Boys” who can tell me that I’m totally off base and it’s all completely legit? I’m totally open to being amazed, and frankly it would be refreshing to know that something in this seedy, corrupt area of life is for reals.

Stories often have plot devices, even ones where the goal (especially in porn) is just to get to the action we're supposed to see (e.g fucking). We're not actually supposed to believe that the housewife fucks the plumber or daddy does his step-daughter. Is it hot? Oh yeah. Is it the stuff of horny fantasies? Sure. Is it credible? We all know it's not and it falls into the plot premise designed to draw the viewer in.

I could care less what the plot device is that gets the two people into some really hot sex, but if the actors are gorgeous...yeah, it'll keep me interested.

I readily confess that I’m not much titillated by sexual fantasies of most kinds, and I don’t have much of a fantasy life when it comes to sex. But then why would I need to? The sex life I actually live is apparently so fantastical that most people think I’m writing fiction when I’m just telling a modest version of what actually happened. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen and lived an intense sexuality that depictions that aren’t genuine become obviously so to me, and leave me flat. Or maybe I just prefer the inimitable energy between two genuine men having authentic sex. There’s no substitute for that.

I believe it on a case by case basis. There's some videos where the guys are flaccid and by the blank look in their face are mentally disengaged.

I've seen that with gay porn stars, too...but there are "straight" boy videos where no one gets hard. They're not what you'd call stimulating...

I think we all respond to different things. It depends on my mood - sometimes porn puts me to sleep, other times revs me up. Usually writing sex scenes will get me excited though...

And I also believe that CzechHunters is real, too. And Mormon Boys - that’s my favorite! It’s all fantasy, and most of it caters to rather specific “niches.”
Broke Straight Boys is one of those. Their vids do nothing for me for several reasons, the biggest being that it seems to violate it’s own premise - The models obviously look gay.

Czech Hunters is NOT real.  Those young men who the photographer stumbles across have been pre-selected and screened prior to the filming.  I often view these videos, and I admit the prized "discovery" the host makes can sometimes be very attractive.  But what you may not see, is that in many cases the subject (Okay, let's say it - the bottom) have credits with film studios like BelAmi.  They did not just decide to spend the day in the park and then that afternoon a stranger with a camera suddenly has his dick up their ass.  It just doesn't work that way, many of those locations have been scouted in advance to make sure they are secure, and at times you see that situation come apart.  So then we find our trusty cameraman in an apartment, this time the young man is riding his dick - perhaps for the first time, really!   No, no not true.  I'd like to know how many of these young men would know how to "prepare" for a bottom scene.  The reason they know - they have been instructed on what things need to be done in advance of shooting. There is often the comparison Bait Bus equals Czech Hunter.  I don't know if I have enough information on Bait Bus (are all the individuals gay acting students) but with Czech Hunter they are recruited and many have prior porn film credits.

One of my best friends identifies as 100% straight. But when I asked if he’d ever shagged a guy, he shrugged “Oh, sure”. It’s just no big deal to him. Actually, he’s such a tart (everyone calls him the straight version of me - can’t imagine why…🤔) I believe he’d fuck a tree if he was feeling horny enough. But that’s another story. Now I can well believe he’d go “gay for pay” in a porn movie if he really needed the cash. So I don’t find the notion of a straight guy doing it for money if he was desperate wholly implausible. But, as others have said, it would still likely as not be a staged fantasy for the titillation of its intended audience. The films in question are a commodity, probably no more real than the average Hollywood blockbuster - or Slam Rush video. But if the audience enjoys them and buys into the fantasy, good luck to them.

Ever fuck around with him?

How, then, is he defining “straight”, what would he call a guy who would never fuck another man for any reason, and how would he explain the difference between himself and the other guy if they’re both “straight”?

To me, a guy who fucks other guys but “identifies as 100% straight” is up to his neck in denial. A man who interacts sexually with both women and men is a bisexual by definition. He can’t be 100% heterosexual and also fuck men on the side as though it didn’t count.

I think he is perfectly entitled to identify however he wishes - as we all are. And, trust me, this is not a man in denial about anything. But there’s a joke in the UK that the only difference between a gay man and a straight man is six pints of lager. I can well believe that if he was pissed enough and horny enough he’d fuck anything with a pulse (and even the pulse might be negotiable!). That affects his sexuality not a jot. Just because I might eat a meal comprising entirely of vegetables occasionally does not make me a vegetarian.

You didn’t answer the question, and no one is entitled to “alternative facts”.

Note that what we consider ourselves isn’t actually relevant, because if no one else’s perspective mattered the question would never arise. A label of orientation is purely a function of our attempt to place ourselves within the framework of others’ opinions. Your friend may identify himself as straight, but that doesn’t mean that’s what he is. The people who observe his actual behavior will decide what he is to them. To me, for instance, he can cry straight til kingdom come, but he’s clearly a bisexual because he fucks men. What he says doesn’t trump what he does.

I am also unconvinced by the argument that a person can be considered straight as long as he will fuck absolutely anything. That’s the clinical opposite of straight.

The whole thing illustrates why “straight” and “gay” are becoming increasingly useless for describing sexuality in the real world.

My friend, for someone whose last paragraph suggest labels are useless, you don’t half bang on about them. But I have neither the time nor the inclination to wade through the rest of your argument. I made a slightly flippant post about my mate, who identifies as 100% straight - as he is perfectly entitled to - end of. He could fuck mice, for all I care. I just know he’s a bloody good friend who would find this discussion a hoot.

Back on topic...  BSB is about as believable as the FraternityX site or other's of that ilk.   It's porn with a vague premise.  There might be a very small subset of actors that really are broke or in the gayest frat known to man, but they're the exception.   While I like erotic fiction, none of those sites really do it for me since there's nothing more to it than the title and the actor's look that backs up the site name.

I think you’re absolutely right. Most of these outlets have a “come on” premise or theme to draw punters in, but don’t often deliver. I mean, “SlamRush” doesn’t exactly do what it says on the tin, does it? 😂
