Gonorrhoea & chlamydia - how bad are they, really?

And neither do you.  Mine happens to be one of the most recognized and informed ID specialist in the world.  But that's okay, just keep telling yourself that. You live in LA, correct?  Good luck with the doctors in that state.

I agree I don't know everything. I do know - and many, many members of this forum know - that antibiotic-resistant bacteria are a result of the bacteria changing, not a result of how many times someone gets infected with a particular bacterium species.

More to the point: if you WERE correct, what you're saying is that you "know" your body is becoming a human petri dish for antibiotic-resistant bacteria and you just don't give a fuck about anyone else's health. That's a pretty amazing self-own.

Bro, the bitter attitude is not needed around here.

I've had gonorrhea before and the treatment was a simple antibiotic in pill form which was fast acting. I recently caught it again, and it was nastier and more painful this time.  Further, due to antibiotic resistance, it is much more difficult to treat.  This time, the treatment was an injection of one type of antibiotic in the ass cheek and a seven day course of a different antibiotic in pill form.

This experience made me reconsider some of my actions, unfortunately.

chaste as a nun

Wrapping up a most interesting thread with a smidge of a smile:

Considering the Institution which these women serve, run by Princes of the Institution wearing long dresses, ruby slippers, and who knows what else, chances are rather poor that these nuns don't get none.  There actually are het clerics (one guy's fingers and toes may be enough to count them all, but that's not the point), and I rather doubt they'd blush at porking the nuns whenever they ran across an semi-attractive one while the majority of their "brothers-in-the-cloth" are busy fucking each other every time a candle was lit or a tinkerbell rang.

Which brings to mind a potential amelioration of the border issues in south TX - but I think it belongs in the Politics department, not the sexual health department.

Thanks to all of you who've been offering information/experiences in this most thought-provoking thread.  Every guy excuses every other guy, right ???

I get gono in my throat and butt all the time. Chlamydia and syphilis regularly but not as often. Most of the time I didn’t have any symptoms and would have never known if I hadn’t gotten tested. It’s just part of the lifestyle. I’ll tell guys I’ve had sex with in the past week if I have contact info or kinda know them. I never have any idea who I got it from or when I got it though and I usually can’t remember most of the guys I had sex with after a week anyway. But my profiles are all clear that I’m a promiscuous bareback bottom and if they ask I tell them when I last got tested and roughly estimate my chances of having a bug infested asshole. And if they’re worried, just tell them it’s not a good fit if they really want disease free. Almost all those guys will still want to raw dog me though. A lot of them feel guilty about it after they cum but I love risky unprotected sex with anonymous men

I’m not advocating at all for those infections.

I am however interested in understanding how bad they are really for a gay man? While straight men and women may develop infertility, this is not a concern for me at all.

so, what negative or lasting outcome would an untreated gon/chlam infection have? Any educated advice?

I talk from personal experience, got chlam infection that crawled back through the urethra into the ball sack and turn into a pyocele, which made my balls be 5x the normal size, completely swollen and extremely bothersome and concerning.  Ended in ER and there was talk of surgery but thankfully antibiotics worked fine. While it was all fine here you can see how this could turn the wrong way for some people.

Now, I've been fooling around for over a decade on PrEP and I've got asymtomaticish gono and chlam dozens of times that were treated promptly without much consequence. The math still works in my head.. but people need to be aware sometimes things may turn south.

  • 1 year later...

I am in an open relationship of eight years and of that eight, five on PrEP. I have had Gonorrhoea (throat and arse at the same time) twice and chlamydia once.

As part of PrEP I test every three months and ad hock if I feel the need or I am notified by a buddy. Each time I have picked up these extras I have taken the meds and followed the abstinence protocols.  I have notified, those that I can, that they should get tested. It's not a big problem.  It's just part of being a sexually active gay man.

I have had both. For my chlamydia was worse. I think it’s because you can have it for a while before you notice. I have had gono a few times but I seem to get chlamydia at least once or twice a year.

I've had Gono, Chalmidia and Syphilis. Gono sucked cause it was in my ass. Doctor have me some Doxycycline for two weeks, 2 pills a day. Syphilis is a bitch... Takes time to know if you have it, if your not going to the Dr appointment. I've had it 3 times minimum since the pandemic.

It's part of my Cum Dump Cunt life style. I love to be fucked up raw, take loads from anyone, have fun.
