Understand my hero GoodE's point. Ok you asked - so here go my thoughts. (I know the misery of designing a new system so you have my respect.) Screens are just TOO BIG. In the old group chat, all the posts were basically in one box. I could read and follow the chatter, step away, come back and still see the convo. Now, it's scrolling up and down to see who said what, and the format is difficult to review or make sense of, much less engage in the chatter. IMHO, this format might be fine for 1:1, but it's really not conducive for a group chat like we had before where folks were making lewd and lascivious comments all over. I'll keep trying it a bit, but it's challenging. The few times I've been in did not make me want to come back. How's that? ...

Wondering - So the situation is you are on EITHER the new drug or Truvada as placebo, but either way you are arguably on a Prep med right? And your concern is the potential increased risk if, in fact, on the new drug because it is still in the process of being proven, right? Non-med brain here just trying to stay current.

So basically like any backroom or dark room or even a ghole - (a) really hot if you are getting fucked over and over, and (b) pretty hot for a while listening to others getting fucked and feeling the energy and waiting to get fucked. But if no (a), only (b) gets boring pretty soon. I like the hood idea which is same as a dark room, but good points. Thanks for the reality check.

I think a related issue is that EVERYONE is doing bb now because PREP is out there, at least in the US. And HIV isn't the killer it was, thankfully. Seems to be more bb fucking than past 30 years, and everyone it talking about it and DOING it. Trust me - I've been here the whole time, and now travel a lot and hear what guys are talking and doing. So now, taking loads on PREP is just like the bottom next door at the bathhouse - he's doing the same things. Yeah, its great that we have it, and its fucking awesome taking dick and loads. But some of us live on the edge, all about being different, or something like that. Our festish is doing what most guys won't do. When you take PREP you are preventing the very thing that is so desirable in your head. So if you have eroticized bb fucking to the point of thinking poz as a fetish, doing it on PREP is safe, and that's not what your brain wants. Find a good friend that you can talk to about all of it a good deal, and think long and hard about it. Reality bites.

Think you answered your own question. These guys weren't around so they can't reference or understand that history. It's become an entirely different scene than we ever knew, or expected to encounter again in our lifetimes. Their fantasies and actions (and ours to some extent) are the product of the new facts not the old ones.

You nailed it- Addition. I've seen it in Philly, DC, FTL - my usual haunts. Amazes me they pay money to go into the bathhouse, then sit there on the phone. Of course mostly "they" are way too pretty and self-consumed to ever fuck with the likes of me, so I guess it's really not a loss ... lol. -
That's basically a night at the bars and baths now, isn't it? Amazing how many guys are there just on their phones looking for a connection rather than actually trying to make one. Guess it's an age things .. remember when phones had telephone cords???

The former leather rack on Connecticut Ave just above Dupont, is apparently still the same basic store. Now called Bite the Fruit. 1723 Connecticut Ave NW They should have it all. Been meaning to get there but haven't make it yet. Let us know if you go.
