I'm on PreP and I still get skeptical that I'll get infected by HIV even when I'm on PreP. I tend not to have sex with poz guys just because of this. Are there really any cases of getting poz even while being on PreP?

I'll just add that for me this is a huge plus of being on PreP: you don't need to worry about the status of the other person, his viral load, whether he is telling the truth about himself, and so on. The ability to protect yourself is in your hands. I'd really encourage you to follow through and get on the medication.

I rarely have sex. That too unprotected. No matter what I'm going to use condom from now on. But maybe once in a while I might have bareback sex.

Does taking PreP in my case affect me negatively if I'm not even have sex but still taking PreP to protect myself from the one time I might have bareback sex?

I did contact the hospital and talked to the doctor. I've stopped my PEP as we checked the reports of the other person. His level are undetectable so there's no real reason for me to be on PEP.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I went to the emergency the day i got fucked. Took first dose of PEP.

My experience with just first dose of PEP is killing. I've no energy. I feel my backbone is going to break. And I've to take these meds for 30 days. 

Now I'm thinking i should believe the word of my partner that he cannot transmit the virus anymore. The side effects of PEP are unbearable.

Thanks for sharing the information. He also said that he's been below detection limit for over 9 years now. And the number from laboratory signifies that there is no hiv virus in his blood anymore. Is that possible? 

If he's below detection limit then why is he still taking the medicines?

I had unprotected sex today with a top who was HIV positive since 2003 and he told me he cannot transmit the virus now. He said once he was taking 38 pills but now only takes 1.

I said no to him for sex but while foreplay I lost control of my mind and let him fuck me for like 5 strokes. I'm sure he didn't cum but I'm a virgin and know my asshole is a weak sucker for diseases.

Those are big 'if's' and that's why I highlighted them in quoting you. If you've been on the receiving end of a bare fuck by someone who's Poz and not on med's, or who's status is unknown please call a doctor immediately and ask for PEP because the sooner you start on a month of that medication, the higher the chances are you won't be infected with HIV.
I you are already on PrEP and have only taken PrEP two hours before being fucked you are not complying with the way PrEP should be used. Again: call your doctor asap. 

 

Your last sentence sounds a bit weird, like you have medication for use as PEP and PrEP just laying around the house. So after you've taken care of your health I would like to read what exactly is your situation where your questions are coming from.

Hey thanks for your answer. I'm just trying to gain knowledge over PreP and PEP. I'm going to start having bareback sex and start on my PreP once I'm back to Germany by the end of the year. 

I was just trying to educate myself on what steps to take to be safe in different scenarios.

It's very important for me to control myself in heat of the moment as I easily loose control over my mind and bend for any bareback sex.

And if I'm not on PreP and take raw loads can I take PEP just to be on a safer side if not sure the load was toxic? How many hours after shall I take PEP after taking loads?

How do you time prep as you don't know when you're going to take a cock. I feel prep doesn't help with the impromptu bareback sex. Maybe I'm wrong.
