Cool! Be a Steroid-Shooting, Tina-Snorting Musclebound Porn Star! Just Wear a Condom!

Okay, now that’s one of the bitchiest headlines I’ve ever written. But I’m trying to get through to Derek Hartley and his ilk.

If you’re missing how all this started, go back a few days to my entry on the loss of musclebound god and Falcon-exclusive porn star Erik Rhodes. Derek responded as well.

Erik-Rhodes-200x300.pngI’ve listened to Sirius XM’s OutQ station and the “Derek and Romaine” show, where Derek Hartley broadcasts. As with some of our so-called “gay celebrities,” you get a little fame in the community and, well, what happens to you but you become a little less rooted in where the rest of us live.

He hangs out with porn stars and musclebound men. And he loves, loves, loves to dispense advice on his bully platform of a radio show. Derek is friends with FabScout Howard*twitter-tiny.png, an outspoken condom Nazi and part of porn “model” company FabScout Entertainment*opens-in-new-window-w.png, which refuses to represent anyone who chooses to bareback. FabScout was part of the switch of Marc Dylan over to condom-only porn (among some others).

FabScout, Derek, Falcon and the rest of the Gay Mafia sit in judgment. They love their placement on these thrones where, in this façade they show, they pretend to be outraged at barebacking. They preach against it. It is wrong, destructive, horrendous, etc.

But they accept all the other horrors of the gay lifestyle: Excessive drinking, steroids, drug use, partying, smoking cigarettes, etc. These abuses and killers*— which far exceed anything barebacking has ever done*— somehow remain acceptable to them.

How a blind eye keeps getting turned to this baffles me. How these people sit in judgment of one choice bothers me. When smoking contributes to the top six of eight killers in the world, when drug use and other over indulgences can destroy lives and unbalance people (like Erik Rhodes), it seems all right to porn studios, model representatives and the Gay Mafia.

Take FabScout. Upfront on its website opens-in-new-window-w.png*is its policy on safe sex (should be “safer sex”). Why not a policy on drug use? It’s okay for your models to use steroids? It’s okay for your models to get high on crystal meth, PCP, bath salts? Seems to me, if you want to protect your “investment” in your models, why don’t you protect them by assuring they’re all healthy and drug free.

Barebacking is a choice, just like everything else here. If you’re going to allow people the right to choose other behaviors, why not barebacking? Is it because these men are attractive and musclebound and beautiful that you can somehow overlook these behaviors?

Still seems so*hypocritical.

P.S.

Gawker has published one of the most comprehensive explorations of the life and death of Erik Rhodes (real name*James Elliott Naughtin). Check it out*opens-in-new-window-w.png.
