Even if the training evening was less successful than I'd have hoped it did have a positive side in that I managed to turn some of my notes into what I believe to be the first UK HIV mainstream article saying that there are more effective ways of protecting yourself against HIV than condoms. The British seem to have a love affair with the condom: charity donors (both private like Elton John Aids Foundation) and public (the government) insist that the charity promotes condoms as a means of protection. I was pretty doubtful about the idea of PrEP when it was first cleared for use in the USA, but you guys convinced me otherwise - thank you!
