I'm a 27 year old that just started PrEP a week ago. So far no side effects aside from a little dizziness a little bit after I take it, but it has only happened once or twice. I have a question that came up after my appointment, so I figured I would just ask here:

I only got a 30 day prescription because I need to go back to for them to test my kidney function. My doctor said to come back after 30 days for this and to get a refill on the prescription, but this doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't I go back like around 25 days so I don't run out of Truvada and then have to 'restart the cycle'? I'd prefer to keep the drug in my system so I don't have to worry about the 7 days it takes for immunity to build up. Is there any rationale to going after 30 full days or should I go back after like 25 days?
