concerned1 Posted January 28, 2021 Report Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) So basically, I graduated from university last year with a bachelor's degree ( 4.0 GPA in a media-based course), I went to uni in my late 20s, and through lockdowns and restrictions in my country (the UK) have done a lot of soul-searching about what I want to do. To cut a VERY long story short, I've decided I want to work in the adult industry. I'm an extremely sex-positive person, and I definitely think about sex way more than the average man (some would ponder I have a condition known as 'hypersexuality', I suppose). I love porn. I watch it several times a day and have done for a long time (even before the whole COVID-19 crisis began) and just absolutely love it almost more than anything else in life other than perhaps music. I appreciate seeing good sex work as an art so-to-speak and have a HUGE collection of DVDs at home that I have grown over the years. So yeah, in a nutshell, porn is like my number one passion (as well as actually fucking guys myself, of course). At this point, I should say I wish to work in the gay adult industry specifically.... not as an actor, but as a writer. I know it's not for everyone, and many people find it very cheesy, but I love porn with storylines/a bit of a drama going on. There are a few studios I know and love that have made some brilliant pornos with some really good stories/dramas in them. I'd like to write for a studio and then perhaps after time working in the industry as a writer, maybe go on to direct, produce and/or start a new studio. I think something along those lines would be my ultimate goal and aim moving forwards, or to stay as a writer, but to work my way up to one of the bigger studios which would pay me more. I love sex as art and I would love to be involved in creating content. So, the advice I guess I'm looking for is how do I go about getting in? Of course, porn industry jobs/careers are not advertised like "normal" jobs are, and I'm guessing mostly it's all about connections, networking with those in the industry already and just reaching out to studios telling them what I want to do? I am passionate about porn and really want to get into the industry as a writer and have decided I'm committed to this. Edited January 28, 2021 by concerned1
PigBoyDallas Posted January 28, 2021 Report Posted January 28, 2021 I can't speak to what its like in the UK but in the US you'd be probably 10, 20, 30 years too late. Everything is online now and there's so many channels and options outside of porn studios. I know a guy locally who did some years ago but he got out once he got a good job. He used to dance in a strip club and hustle too and said the money from pornos was OK but limited. He made more stripping and hustling. Maybe its different behind the cameras but I think that business model probably doesn't work anymore. I do my thing online at Chaturbate and OnlyFans. Sometimes I find a guy who will join and that's always a draw. Lots of guys on various platforms do live sex and there's an interactive component, so it works well for a lot of people. I don't care for scripted porn and honestly prefer it when its more like a natural hookup that doesn't seem so stilted and stiff. I hard enough to stay hard without having to worry about forgetting your lines.
