LosAngeles818 Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 I met up with a guy yesterday who said he's had HSV 1 on his mouth for 10+ years but hasn't had an outbreak in a long time and wasn't having one now. I didn't think it was a big deal. He sucked me for a couple minutes to get me hard before we had some fun. Now today he's texted me and told me he's possibly starting an outbreak and has a sore on the corner of his lip like his outbreaks usually start. I'm reading mixed things online. Some websites say HSV Type 1 spread from mouth to genitals is quite low because HSV Type 1 doesn't thrive on genitals to other websites saying it's super common to spread that way. Anyone have any real world experience with it? Either way I'll get tested in a couple weeks.
Yazuni Posted Monday at 06:56 PM Report Posted Monday at 06:56 PM Hi, it is a scary situation when taking the risk. also scary when they notify you. Have you shown any symptoms? usually sores and burns when you pee. If no symptom since its been a week, give it another 2 weeks. can take up to a month. You can go to you PCP and request a full on STI test including HSV, they only do those upon request. usually they tell you to take the test when symptoms have shown. so it would be to late by then. But there are ways to treat it. I hope this helps
MtnOtter Posted Monday at 08:00 PM Report Posted Monday at 08:00 PM Consider getting valacyclovir as a prescription to use as a preventative measure when having sex. It can help reduce your risk. In the meantime: relax, take care of yourself and make a doc appointment.
