I am a leukemia survivor and had a stem cell (bone marrow transplant).  I never tested HIV+ before my transplant, even thought I had a great deal of raw fucking over the years.  I just assumed I was either incredibly lucky or had a natural immunity to the virus.

Now my immune system has been completely replaced by my donors DNA.  If I did have natural immunity to HIV before my transplant it is gone now (unless my donor happened to have the same natural immunity).

As an aside a bone marrow transplant is not something anyone would go through unless it was absolutely your only option to live.  It is beyond hell to go through.
