IronPig Posted October 22 Report Posted October 22 Nostril burns are a good cue to upgrade to a topper or take a tolerance break. Quote

I don't know for sure, but I believe this is probably a small ball of an alkaline substance such as lye or washing soda, which can absorb the acid as degradation occurs, thereby keeping it from catalyzing further degradation. There is a patent from the 1950s on using such alkalies for this exact purpose. I wonder if you can buy those balls anywhere. If that’s their purpose, I’d love them in all my poppers. Does refrigeration really help? I’ve heard mixed things. Quote

sluttony Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago Not for years. About 18 years ago, I was very drunk, had come back to my hotel room in London still horny from a session and broke out the poppers to huff whilst I wanked. At some point I must have managed to unknowingly spill them on my cock before falling asleep! The burns were quite nasty, and these poppers were freshly opened that night. Then the old-school formula was banned and different variants started to appear. They had less of a buzz, lasted nowhere near as long, and smelled foul by comparison. And I had to stop for a while as whatever that particular make up was, made my nose run for days afterwards. I came back to them a few years later, but found that products such as Old English fucked with my eyes after use. I'd wake up with pain in them, and with a blurring starting to appear in the middle of my vision. I read somewhere that they were particularly nasty for causing retinal damage. Now, I order them from France and use Isoamyl Nitrite and I have to say they are very strong but give me none of the previous symptoms. They also have an old-school smell to them. And as a side-note, I have always wiped the top of the bottle before inhaling. I learned years ago that by not doing this, you left yourself open to burning if you made contact. It's a habit I still have, though I also use a topped now, too. 1 Quote
davescott1125 Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I used to get burns on my nostrils but came up with a solution that not only solved the burn problem but increased the rush. We all know it is the vapors that we want. I clean out a plastic soda bottle and allow it to thouroughly dry out. You don't want any moisture in it. Then I take a piece of paper towel and put it in the bottle. Then using an eye dropper I get liquid from my brown bottle and put it in my soda bottle, saturating rhe paper towel, then put the cap on tight. You can feel the bottle expand as the vapors fill it. With no free liquid you can take hits in any position with no spilling. The huge volume of vapors allows for massive hits. Use caution. Just add a liquid as needed to keep the paper towel moist. I have used the same bottle for over a year. 1 Quote

Does refrigeration really help? I’ve heard mixed things. The little white balls are Epsom salt balls that have been heat treated in an oven to be completely devoid of water moisture. They are used for two purposes. 1. To absorb water moisture in the poppers 2. To agitate the fluid in the bottle for a consistent vapor release As far as refrigeration, yes it does help. It slows down chemical reactions that cause the poppers to spoil and loose potency. Hope that helps 1 Quote
