  1. I assume you are taking about SSDI with the social security administration? I am legally disabled due to a severe head injury that occurred while at work so I will help you with the disability question. To get SSDI, you need to file an application as soon as possible once you cannot work. The application will ask you all your medical history (doctors, locations, diagnosis, length of injury/illness and more). Best collect all the information right away before you start the application to make entering all the information easy. More you provide, the easier for them to evaluate your application. Once done, all you can do is sit and wait, and wait, and wait. The process is normally time consuming and lengthy. I have heard folks sitting from 9-months to nearly 2-years and still being denied and at that point I know there is lawyers that will help you appeal the decision. Mind you can get a lawyer (pay them up front) to assist you with the application and the process. That is totally up to you and how you wanna go. Now me personally, I went and applied for SSDI when I lost my job and I knew I was not able to go back to work and the process only took 2 1/2 months for me. But I have extremely well documented medical history and work history that shows my limitations and difficulties. Each person and their situation will be different. Hope that helps, need more information, message me please. Thanks
