  1. See the NA Step Working manual for an example of the kind of questions one considers in a 4th step: http://gssana.org/books/na-step-working-guide.pdf

Some examples of the things from that manual that I'm curious to know how others responded to and shared with their sponsor:

How was my sexual behavior based in selfishness?
Have I confused sex with love? What were the results of acting on that confusion?
How have I used sex to try to avoid loneliness or fill a spiritual void?
In what ways did I compulsively seek or avoid sex?
Have any of my sexual practices left me feeling ashamed and guilty? What were they?
Why did I feel that way?
Have any of my sexual practices hurt myself or others?
Am I comfortable with my sexuality? If not, why not?
Am I comfortable with others' sexuality? If not, why not?
Is sex a prerequisite in all or most of my relationships?
What does a healthy relationship mean to me?

    and:

Before we finish this Fourth Step, we should stop and reflect: Is there anything we've
missed, either intentionally or not? Is there something we think is so bad that we just can't
possibly include it in our inventory? If so, we should be reassured by the fact that a
multitude of NA members have worked this step, and there has never yet been a situation
in anyone's Fourth Step that was so unique that we had to create a new term to describe it.
Keeping secrets is threatening to our recovery. As long as we are keeping a secret, we are
actually building a reservation in our program.
Are there any secrets that I haven't written about yet? What are they?

I'm complex when it comes to role - not a total bottom, but very service-oriented.  Also happy to serve as a urinal (or even dirtier) if requested.
  3. In general most insurance plans will cover it if it is validly prescribed for an FDA-approved use, such as PrEP.   I would suggest you start by getting a prescription and trying to fill it, and if that doesn't go through, the pharmacist will let you know what the next step you need to take in order to get approval from your insurance company is.

  4. Recon used to use a similar modell- you would sign up for one of their sites, and that would be kind of your home site, but you could list your profile on as many of their sites as you wanted, and when you searched you could choose which of their sites to search. When you logged in, it would use your home site's graphics and name, but you could search all of them.

  5. So, scruff gives an exact number of feet, but it is often off a bit. I sometimes am 5 feet away from myself on Scruff, for example.

A4A caches the last time you logged into the app even when you use the website. It needs a way to update that from your web browser. I stopped using the app after a visit from Boston, for example, and now I'm stuck permanently 3,000 miles away from home in their computer.

One problem I find with BBRT is the mileage isn't very accurate. Like, someone is "3 miles" away and on the opposite end of town, since it just goes by zip code and the zip codes are kind of wonky here. I really would like to know exact distance. Oh, and I'd prefer if distance was walking distance or driving distance instead of as-the-crow flies distance - I walked 40 mins once to get to someone who was one Scruff-mile away.

I think there should be a way to opt out of geolocation but that it should be enabled by default. Most people aren't going to take the time to customize those settings, and the site will be a lot more useful if you can easily tell who's nearby to hook up with...

The Cumdumpnetwork integration sounds great - look forward to seeing that!

Also, it would be neat if you could click through and see someone's breedingzone posts from their hookup site profile and vice versa :-)

  6. The only real way to know if you are hiv poz or not it to go and get tested. The symptoms that you describe could be any number of things, and there really is no way to tell, beyond medical testing if it is or is not.

Getting tested the day after would be pretty meaningless. I'd give it at least a week if you were going to get the (rather expensive) RNA test, or at least a month or two before getting an antibody test...

  7. wow4761, 24 hours later? Probably nothing at all from the hookup. But probably a week ago you picked up a garden variety cold or flu.

At this point, even a high sensitivity test would not pick up HIV. You'll need to wait 10 more days for that one to show anything. How often do you normally test for STI's (including HIV)? Given you're now scared shitless, it might be worthwhile to consider PrEP if that is available in your area.

This would be a really bad time for PrEP (PrExposure Prophalaxis)- PrEP should only be started when you're pretty sure you're negative and don't have a likely exposure, and you should have tests verifying this.

But it might be a good time for PEP (Post Exposure Prophalaxis), as long as it was started within 72 hours of the potential exposure.

  8. I have been thinking about a ratings system. You both confirm for the system that there's going to be a hookup. Then afterwards you have the ability to rate the person. This accomplishes a few things - first the person isn't really serious about hooking up if they won't confirm the hookup with the system ahead of time - so fewer fakes. But there will need to be some way to control for bad reviews 'cause the chemistry is just off. Maybe your rating will be your modal or median average - not the mean.

Math geek moment here- you could also do a geometric mean instead of an arithmetic one. And standard deviation might be fun, especially for deviants like us ;) Maybe you could customize in the settings and pick which type of average you want? Of course, the "average" person won't bother, I bet.
