Once my life calms down a bit one of my objectives this year is to start one or more tube sites. People have taken a lot of different approaches to tube sites - some just have a lot of low quality videos, others pirate full-length movies (not going to be doing that), etc.

I know I'll have one tube site for genuine amateur content. I'm going to try to have membership on that tied to membership here. Basically it's where you guys can upload your own personal videos.

I'll also do a small tube site of stuff I shoot that I have model releases for. In time that will probably become a pay site.

Those I view as my "quality" sites. The question is whether I should also do "quantity" sites. Apparently if I spend a few thousand dollars I can buy a license for several hundred videos. The issue is they may not be the highest quality. I'm not sure people are really going to pay to see low quality videos. I also sorta doubt that it would even be a good "bonus" site.

I have a friend in the porn business who's really into "boyfriend" sites. Apparently "boyfriend" is the new word for "amateur". And the thing they're doing is scraping what appear to be genuine amateur videos off other tube sites and recycling them. So that's another approach to having a site with a lot of videos.

So - what do you guys think - which do you prefer to jack off to - a site with a lot of videos many of which may be low quality, or a site with relatively few good videos? Would you get bored if the "quality" site didn't update often enough?

When it comes to porn I like many different kinds of videos, quality stuff like Chaosmen, Active duty etc. as well as amateur cell phone / webcam videos. Sometimes I'm in the mood for high quality, sometimes a dirty voyeuristic pleasure.

I think the most important thing is honesty about the content and consistency between genre and contents.

If I'm looking for some high quality porn, I will not tolerate lousy picture quality. I know the scene is shot in HD, so I don't want it to look pixellated.

If I lust for some amateur stuff I will tolerate a low resolution and shaky camera work. What I will not tolerate is e.g. trying to pass off third-rate studio porn as amateur stuff. A guy that's a bit clumsy because he's doing stuff for the first time is seriously hot and endearing. A professional who's just bad at his job is not.

I agree with much of what GermanFucker has said. The appeal of amateur sites like xtube is that you KNOW the BB guys fucking are doing it because they ENJOY the sex. That is their motive.

High quality professional porn has "stars" - guys whose looks, attitude, stamina or performance set them apart . Picture, sound quality and editing are usually better, but they can lack the "realness" of the amateur vids.

The advantage of low budget movies is that because they are cheaper, they can have a wider variety of men - something to appeal to everyone. Daddies, bears, average guys, as well as the twinks and muscle guys who dominate so much of commercial porn.

I find that for me to maintain the impact of porn it's a good idea to alternate between the amateur and the professional. I've also found that alternating between visual and written porn helps to maintain their excitement and buzz. Too much of one kind can become boring. Variety keeps it fresh. I find I watch more amateur vids these days. The "realness" appeals.

Well, after posting this and doing some analysis of what's selling for me (which should reflect what you guys like), I'm going to start with a site named HotBarebackPorn.com which will be a rawTOP branded version of Bareback Box - there are hundreds of full DVDs on there so it will plenty of really high quality videos and they're all properly licensed - the producer gets a cut every time someone watches one of their videos. And like Bareback Box, Hot Bareback Porn will start at a price point of $9.95/mo - so it's accessible. That's not really a tube site, but it has most of the videos that people rip off when they do big tube sites.

Next up will be an amateur tube site where you guys can upload your videos. I think I'll call it RaunchyFuckers.com, but it may just be videos.breedingzone.com. I gotta work on getting the user names here integrated with the user names on the tube site - so it'll take a little while to get in place. I'll work on finding compatible videos that can be uploaded to the site to grow the number of videos - both extra long promo videos from sponsors as well as genuine amateur videos...

Last up will be a tube site of videos I've shot and have documentation for (IDs and model releases). Probably videos.rawtop.com, but may use BarebackFuckClub.com or if I don't use RaunchyFuckers.com for the amateur site I may use it for this site.

The difference between Bareback Box and Hot Bareback Porn will be that I'll make it so people who buy a membership to HBBP will get updgrades on the other sites - mostly in the form of bigger, higher quality videos - maybe the ability to download the videos - and possibly members only videos.

It may seem weird to split things into so many sites, but mixing licensed videos with amateur is a bad idea - you wind up not being able to charge for the licensed videos...

I like your ideas rawTOP. It sounds like you have thought this through and you will have a variety of films to meet everyone's taste. Looking forward to the launch!

I would replace the name RaunchyFuckers.com with "RaunchyBareBackers.com" or "RaunchyBBfuckers.com" or "BareBackFuckers.com". I prefer BareBackFuckers.com as it signals the site's content to the target audience, but you might feel that RaunchyFuckers.com has a more mainstream appeal and might attract more hits.

There is also the issue that "raunch" has become a code word for piss, scat and heavy ass play. Some might not click on the site for that reason. Others might view the site and then be disappointed that piss, scat and heavy ass play don't feature much.
