Are there places in Manhattan like the Kings Theater (in Brooklyn) or the Fair (in Queens) where you can just pay an entry fee and have full undisturbed use of the facility? On 50th street and 8th there is a dvd place that has an upstairs area. you pay 15 bucks i think and then you can do whatever you want.
