Personally, I'll admit that I've taken to the long sock trend. I have a foot/sock/shoe fetish so they automatically get my attention.

More importantly, I can store my phone, car key, ID, and even lube and poppers in my socks at calf-length for easy access when I visit the arcade... leaving my shorts pockets empty to be removed at a moments notice. MUCH less worry of losing valuables (and hell, even if I lose my shorts entirely, I know I can still get home)

Sometimes I wear the long socks too when I go to Slammer in Ft Laud because it's convenient. I can store small size of lub and poppers in it while I am cruising on my jockstrap.
