Public places and easy hotels in DC area

Coming to DC in a few weeks, and looking to be a good cumdump. Want to get a hotel room that's affordable, but not gross. The hotel needs to be close enough to a subway station that people can get there easily, but also not have locked doors so that they can get up to my room? Any ideas? 

Also, any suggestions on places for public play? In DC, Arlington, Alexandria and Chevy Chase?

joud residences are furnished apartments, near foggy bottom metro/off K street.....front desk closes at 7pm.....then it's private, these places aren't slummy, but not super luxurious either, have had good experiences b/c of the front desk being closed.....also has parking if you driving....

 

another place that is good is HIVE hotel on F NW.....stay in a buzz queen or king room in basement, room is good, the rest is above or below so coming and going late is no big deal......
