A bttm mate of mine is going through his 3rd fuck flu. He has been in Singapore and Thailand on a month long sex holiday, offering his ass up to every guy up there. 

Is it logical to make the assumption that he has acquired new strains? That's why he has gotten the fuck flu more than once?

The acquisition of new strains of AIDS is likely to have a considerable impact on the lucky ones who get more than one strain....me included. Usually a few weeks after infection you may well get a flu bout of some sort.
