Im curious about the ads one sees on TV for prep. The guys say they’re negative and use safe sex, are on prep, and get tested every three months or so. Whats the purpose of prep then? If you’re negative and use condoms, and get tested regularly shouldnt that be enough?

i thought the whole idea of taking prep was so one wouldn’t have to use condoms and enjoy raw sex safe from HIV. Please enlighten me.

Best practice safe sex as recommended by health authorities involves condoms (which can break or be compromised) and PrEP (which only protects against HIV).

Reality, of course, is that many will gladly risk "other" STIs for the thrill of bareback, using PrEP to stay neg.
