concerned1
Imagine it. You wake up tomorrow morning and in the news headlines you read: "New mysterious illness observed in sexually active gay men. Mortality rate 100%. Doctors baffled but suspect infectious agent, sexually transmitted". Imagine nothing is known about this new illness, except that lots of gay and bisexual men are dying and the common link seems to be that all those affected are (or have been) very sexually active and engaged in bareback sex on a regular basis. It would be like traveling back in time to the very beginning of the AIDS epidemic, in 1981. Only this time, it's not HIV. It's something new and unknown ....the only thing we know is that it's going to take doctors and medical scientists a while before they discover the cause; if it is a virus or a bacteria; if it is spread through oral or anal sex or both; how long the incubation period is; etc. Now try to imagine this actually happening at some point in the future. The overwhelming majority of us on Breeding Zone are, I assume, frequent barebackers. We love raw sex and we have lots of it, on a regular basis. We are sluts. We love to dump and take hot loads. In the gay world, PrEP has been a game-changer. PrEP's widespread availability, increasing popularity and encouragement has resulted in thousands and thousands of sexually active gay men across the Western world to start barebacking with peace of mind; without fear. Now imagine a new disease puts an end to that brief period of safety and embracing a post-condom world. Unprotected sex, particularly unprotected anal sex, suddenly becomes terrifying - and those of us who have had and continue to have plenty of it, start to become frightened that we may have this new disease running through our veins. Do any of you here reading this right now choose not to bareback or to let guys cum inside you because of this kind of scenario potentially happening in the future? Does the aforementioned imaginary scenario affect your decision of whether or not to bareback? Does anyone here wonder about this at all? Do any of you here who, like myself, do choose to bareback with lots of random strangers, sometimes worry that there could already be or that there might be in the future a deadly disease spreading very silently through gay men, just like HIV must have surely been silently spreading within the gay community all throughout the 1970s, before people started falling sick in the very early 80s?
