Suspended Newtumbl account

I just got my Newtumbl account suspended for "violating terms of service". Of course they don't tell you what you did wrong, and as far as I know, I didn't do anything. I've reached out to support, but honestly don't expect a response. Has this happened to anyone else?

I’ve never had an issue on there but I tend to just repost a lot rather than post. I hope their support team give you a response.

Yes, 90% of my stuff was reposts, and I know anything I uploaded was within guidelines. I think they should at least tell you what your violation was.

Well if it’s any consolation I got banned by PayPal 3 years ago. I’d only made 12 transactions that year and when I asked they refused to say why. I kept pushing and they said it was for selling unauthorised items - I had only ever sold 3 things on PayPal and that was 3 years prior - a record player and some boots via eBay.  Basically they lied out of their arse and still wouldn’t reverse the ban on my account.  I can’t even remove my personal details such as my bank account number and they refuse to delete the account even though they banned me from using it.

Craigslist banned me once. It took some trying to get a response from them. All they said is I had been reported for harassing someone, which never happened. (I was actually harassed by someone I didn't want to hook up with, lol) But I know these companies don't give a shit. I'll just make a new account and move on. It really sucks what PayPal did to you though. And it does suck that there's never any recourse.

Similar story here. And they ban all new cards too. Even if I try to buy things on ebay now it won't let me, I have to buy a prepaid card. It's maddening.

Well I set my PayPal image to an erect penis and my address to PayPal are Cunts as the house name. Did you also know that while the app only shows 3 years of transactions, they actually keep at least 12 years of transaction data, which is in excess of the statutory amount.

Thanks for sharing this story. It's a good reminder that these companies behave arbitrarily, and that the consequences to us can range from frustrating (no more porn posts) to serious (bank details stored permanently; having to use prepaid cards).

Pre-Brexit you in the UK had strong rights to review your data, to have companies delete data no longer needed for processing, etc. Even so, many companies based outside Europe ignored the GDPR.
