Leathersteel Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 New Zealand based here. Meds are government subsidised and most I pay is nz$5.00 (that’s about us$3.00) for 3 month supply. 6 monthly health check up and blood tests are also free of cost. 1 Quote

Australia's NHS (equivalent) was first implemented about 1974 & several Conservative governments have tried to phase out or cease. Fortunately / Unfortunately (whichever side), as we only have 3yr (🤔🤬) terms for government there is not enough time to effectively break the systems back. We also have a group of Unions, for better or worse, who can wield immense power & keep governments busy with industrial action & away from Medicare. I actually believe that scrapping our NHS equivalent would bring the country to revolution. Medicare is now considered to be SACROSANCT to Australias national identity. 1 Quote
PozBearWI Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Um sure, I get that. Our democracy's mostly have a certain amount of delay built in to avoid hasty and often unwise decisions from occurring. But they do. While they haven't yet the USA path to destruction of our current method of funding healthcare is driven by a desire to eliminate the costs, not to solve the issue in a better way. Revolutions don't all involve gunplay... Quote
colingryphon Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Anyone in the US try costplusdrugs? I'd share the link but not sure if that's allowed. No affiliation but it seems legit? Search your meds up in there. Quote
descartes70817 Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 I was diagnosed with advanced HIV infection in 2017 but I had great insurance until 2019 so I originally only paid a deductible. After going on disability my medical costs are covered by Medicare, with deductibles and all other medical costs covered by the Ryan White foundation 1 Quote

I’m leaving my job soon and will lose my benefits next year. I’m currently undetectable. Any guidance is appreciated Quote
Rawonly06 Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago Hello ! In France all people who are registered at "Sécurité Sociale" ou "CMU" can have free meds. So HIV treatment is free. People can use or not meds. It’s not mandatory. And you can stay without meds by choice. Quote

Marlin Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I'm very lucky as I have very good health insurance in the U.S. I've been on medication since 2008. My current regimen is Biktarvy and I get 90 days for a $15 co pay. 1 Quote
