Pennine Sauna Shaw (near Oldham) Re-opening Friday 1.8.25

Great news, the Pennine Sauna will re-open after repairing extensive fire damage, on Friday 1.8.25. Fantastic for barebacking in the darkroom and steam room. New opening days/times - Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 12 pm - 8 pm. Easy access from Manchester, Oldham and Rochdale on the Metro.

There are a few sauna's I'd love to visit but they close way too early to be able to get there and make the most of them.

Post covid, when everything started to re-open and some places were struggling, a friend and I decided we wanted to visit every gay sauna in the UK.  I thought the only one we missed was the place in Newcastle that had seemed to turn into a str8 swingers place. Turns out we missed Pennine too, so I think it's time for a visit.  Any tips from regulars - good times or bad times to go?

I visited a few times pre-Covid as I was living nearby. It was an, er, interesting place, but I mean that positively (no pun intended). Very friendly atmosphere and clientele, but somewhat rudimentary facilities. The guys there were mostly mature, which was fine, and there was very little of the attitude you can find in city centre saunas. 
The most surprising thing is its position - it’s in a small northern town where a gay sauna seems very incongruous. Of course, if it’s taken so long to reopen after Covid, it might have changed a hell of a lot since I was last there.
