This topic may not last long. I got infraction points for it once, and I think we're not allowed to discuss it.

But until then, here's my input.

I did it in the summer of 2014. Needed money because I couldn't get work, and I was trying to start in porn. Most of us porn guys will do this, and I had a free trial code for a popular listing site that no longer exists.

Had several clients but no repeats. Did it all summer and into September. Then I got a job at a church - and there's a funny story connected with it. I was advised by the pastor to keep a low profile on my sex life because it might damage their reputation. Plus I needed to not promote a sexually promiscuous lifestyle. (While he said this over the phone to me, I was in the middle of updating my advt on the website! 😂)  I kept the advt active into November in case the church didn't work out, but I had zero calls. Gave it up.

Plus the guy I was seeing was getting serious, so it had to go. And I'm glad it's over. Unreliable and inconsistent, plus it wasn't fulfilling. Just a paycheque.

I escorted in the mid-late 1990s.  I started after I got out of grad school and couldn't get a job.

I was one of the first escorts on the Internet.  Well, sorta.  Y'know how the hookup apps have guys looking for "generous" men?  That was a thing back then too.  We hung out in the America Online chatrooms.

I was one of the first to leave it in favor of building my own web presence.  It took off bigger than I ever dreamt possible.  I did it full time for about five years.  Most of my clients were in the NJ/NYC area, but had clients that flew me around the country and occasionally took me on trips around the world.

I eventually wrote two books about be experiences.  Both are out of print, but their pages still exist on Amazon.

Suburbn Hustler; Stories of a Hi-Tech Callboy.  (That's me on the front cover)

The Male Escort's Handbook: Your Guide to Getting Rich the Hard Way.  (Not me on the front cover, but I'm on the back cover.)

I left escorting to get into porn and produce my own line of amateur videos. In retrospect it was a poor idea. Escorting was far easier and more profitable, but it wasn't intellectually challenging.  Running a porn business was better at that.  I have no real regrets, but in hindsight it wasn't ideal.

Bonus points if anyone remembers my "nom de porn" - Aaron Lawrence - from my escort / porn days.  I wasn't a big star by any means, but I did have a strong online presence for the day.
