Weight Gain on daily Descovy as PrEP

Have been on Descovy for 18 months or so and have gained 15 to 20 pounds.  I called the clinic and was told that unwanted weight gain can be a side effect for some people on Descovy.  I don't know other men on Descovy so I figured I'd reach out here.  Have other men experienced weight gain on Descovy?

Poz guy here but when I was on Biktarvy which includes Descovy, I gained weight like crazy

I was on Truvada for about 5 weeks when I first tried it and had a number of side effects, one of them was weight gain. I gained 11 pounds in those 5 weeks even though I was felt nauseous for about 5 hours after taking the pill.  Because of the side effects, my doctor switched me to Descovy. I gained 4 pounds in the 2 weeks I was on Descovy. I stopped taking PrEP and within a month the weight all came off. I didn't changed anything else--not my exercise routine, diet, supplements nor anything else. I think weight gain is one of the side effects of those medications.

Yeah, this is def a thing. I've been on PrEP almost ten years. Started on Truvada and no weight gain at all, switched to Descovy a couple years ago and put on about 10lbs with no other real changes to lifestyle.

Still worth it tho with the reduced risk of kidney and bone density issues on Descovy. I'm already a big bear type, it's just more cushion for the pushin'.

Is anyone else on Dovato?  And if so, any weight gain issues there?

I’m using Dovato for couple years now. No side effects for me,  no weight gain. Is Dovato being used as prep now?
