Goddammit, @losolent! Such amazing writing. Building up to the big day, but taking your time, letting us all savor the vignettes where time slows, and the seconds pass like hours.

It's getting so very close. I can't wait. I am a bundle of nerves; my stomach turned with the article, but the way it was handled-absolute perfection. You definitely have a talent for weaving an amazing tale with such vivid characters I've found myself thinking, "I wonder what Alex and Mac are up to?"

My husband's dad was Marine Corps. WWII Corps. 2nd man on Okinawa Corps. They had a 2LT who they knew was going to get one or more of them killed, and luckily the CPT knew it too.  2LT drew a recon mission, never returned.
