There used to be a video store called WEGA in Montreal (after the 2020 ban on gatherings killed off the porn peepshow in the basement, the place went into a slow decline)…guess what went into the bargain tray? Strangely enough, I felt nothing and thought ….ok time to go get my blood test done for Canadian immigration, as part of the process for permanent residence. No symptoms, nothing…did the test, was told to come in by the clinic, and I thought that it was my Hep. B flaring up. Nope….got to the front desk, and in front of other clients, was told -you know, you’re HIV? And that was how I found out. It was a Wednesday of Easter week…
By Maundy Thursday, my throat felt like razor blades, I had rashes around my torso. I tried to eat kippers, but the salt had me throwing up. Then, it was gone by the time my late hubs (we were together for about three years then) came back from visiting family in Florida for Easter, it was gone.

Cutedicateguy: I am saddened each time someone new says they’re widowed, as it brings back every experience I had almost 9 years ago. That said, welcome to the wonderful world of widowhood….it is tough. I am assuming that you are relatively new to grief and reintroducing yourself to dating…it’s a tough slog. I think that the people who tend to go on dating apps aren’t really looking for Mr.Right, rather Mr. Right Now. I am not sure how naïve wives are…whether expect the vow to be iron clad…this isn’t 1826. Thing is, I can’t fathom why a gay man would marry a woman…especially now, that same sex marriage is here. A lot of DL men don’t have any good information on same sex, PreP or U=U…but who knows….
