I've used one when I was less experienced, just as a way to prepare my exceptionally (read: painfully) tight hole. I haven't used it in a while now that I have more experience getting fucked.

I have a couple and enjoy having them inside me. I like the feeling of being full. When I lived near the ABS I used to pop one in and head to the glory holes. Guys would always ask to see my ass. Have used many of various sizes and shapes and I love them. Nothing says you have to get a huge one or keep using them larger and larger as you adapt to them. Get one that is comfortable and if it starts falling out - start exercising that sphincter I have a small one with progressively larger balls - 3/8" to a max 1 1/2" - that I still use today. Keeps the hole tight trying to keep it in.

for long term were i would recommend a plug with a good sized flange and steep recurve (side of the bulb that is against the anus).

Very though decision. I have thought about using them as to make my ass more suited to take dick, as I get a terrible pain when I get fucked, no matter if the dick is small. On the other hand, I don't want to make it way too loose, I prefer to keep it tight.
