Administrators rawTOP Posted September 30, 2013 Administrators Report Posted September 30, 2013 They're coming up with a monthly vaginal ring for women that delivers a lower dosage of PrEP drugs. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/09/130927123509.htm Since the drugs are delivered in the area of infection less is needed. But only animal studies so far. Quote
Belfast-Bottom Posted October 1, 2013 Report Posted October 1, 2013 Interesting. I wonder how the anti HIV gels are coming along? I know they have focused on vaginal gels, but as gay men are a high risk group they should investigate anal gels or anti HIV lube. Quote
wood Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 This needs to be fast tracked for use in Africa ASAP. While female to male transmission in the US is somewhat rare, in places with lower hygiene levels, it is much more common. This could not only drastically reduce infection levels for woman, but also the men they have sex with. Quote
