Personally, I have to agree with you on that one.  The best place for a tat like that is right above the cock.  Of course, that's if the guy is a top.  If the guy is a bottom then I'd say making the tat a tramp stamp right above the ass instead.

 

There are also other good places for a tattoo like that.  For example, on the chest is a good spot, but that's usually only if you're fairly well built.  Another good place is on the shoulder where it's easy for everyone to see, but that can also be a drawback sometimes if guys are a bit more reserved about hooking up with poz guys.  Really though, it depends on where you want it.
